Fight Monkey Boxing Gloves

while I can't imagine they're top of the line, seems hard to go wrong at the price.

At $30 CAD yeah, you CANNOT go wrong unless they are false advertising the full cow hide leather. They actually look pretty nice asthetically... An interesting style of split thumb? I actually like the look of it but quality is the question. Full leather, it has double stitching. Design wise I both haven't seen a split thumb that looks like that and I haven't seen wrists that are flared out as much as those gloves. Does that mean they are bad? No? But I'd actually be super interested to get my hands on a pair. If I could get them for $30 cad I'd buy them just to try them out.

I have a huge boxing glove addiction as a boxer so...

Normally I would say "It's a company slapping their brand on some generic gloves made in pakistan or something." However it actually has some unique design features that make me really really interested to see how these go, for me that site still lists them as $119. Maybe it is a case of... well designed gloves by a pro that are good quality, just no marketing so they're just trying to dump inventory basically at cost.

But the cool split thumb and the wrists make me think it's an original design.

My biggest concern with the quality of the glove would be wrist protection. That weird looking wrist design just makes me nervous because it's very close to any of the common wrist styles, or at least it's a very different looking single cuff.

Padding says it's a gel foam? Not sure how that specific padding will perform. Please report back to me / the forums when you get them, or let me know what discount code you're using to get them for $30 CAD. I do live in the U.S. so maybe I can't get them for that. Also don't necessarily assume they can't be good. My favorite pair of non custom gloves I own are triumph death-adders, which were on sale for $50. And I like them more than my Cletos or my RTC C17's.

for me it shows its 29.99$, so maybe it only shows the deal for canadians.

please get them and report back to us with a review!! yeah you cant go wrong with cowhide leather gloves at 30$CAD, i would try them but i literally just bought 2 gloves yesterday for me and my bro

Thanks guys! Grabbed a pair, thought I'd give some initial thoughts - should note, I'm still pretty new to this and don't have too many gloves to compare to.

The leather smelled decent coming out of the box, but it's thin. The yellow leather is very wrinkled. Stitching is okay, there's one very little section at the base of the thumb that looks like it's come apart. The black leather of the split thumb is actually on top of the yellow with a little raised edge, which could be an issue for sparring.

Padding is good, fairly firm and felt good on the bag. Thumb position and fist felt fine. The lining is pretty loose and bunches around the fingers which is a bit annoying. I found the hand pocket roomy and the fingers tight with the lining, but I have small hands so they may fit tighter on most hands. The wrist was weird - it felt loose even when strapped as tight as I could get it, but I couldn't actually move my wrist back so it did its job.

All in all, okay gloves for 30$. I'm a little worried about the thumb for sparring, but I'll be using them for bag work for the near future. Time will tell how well they hold up, and I can update once they've seen more work.

You might be newer to buying gloves? Make SURE to break them, pressing them down for a minute at a time tight then releasing the padding can 'break up' the padding, just bag-work might not quite do the job. The website said it was injected foam which means you'll really need to break it up.

Also mind taking a picture of the loose leather around the split thumb? Also in general anything on the split thumb really shouldn't be an issue for sparring, you're never hitting that hard with the thumb.

Will do, thanks!

With the thumb, I was mostly concerned for scratching a sparring partner? I do muay thai and was iffy about clinch work with an edge like that.

yeah it does look like its coming apart at the thumb. but damn if $30CAD for leather gloves isnt a good deal lol

The foam ended up separating/splitting near the fingers after very minimal use. Might be a reason they're so cheap!
