I'm not sure what to make of this quite yet but

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe stepped down Monday as the agency’s No. 2, multiple sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

McCabe will remain on the FBI payroll until he is eligible to retire with full benefits in mid-March, the sources said.

One source familiar said McCabe was exercising his retirement eligibility and characterized McCabe’s decision as "stepping aside."

McCabe has been at the center of ongoing tensions between the White House and the FBI and has reportedly been on the receiving end of pressure to quit from President Donald Trump, whose campaign is being investigated for possible collusion with Russia.

Earlier this month, the Washington Post reported that after Trump had fired FBI Director James Comey, he met with McCabe in the Oval Office and asked him who he voted for in the 2016 election.

Trump, the officials told The Post, also vented his anger at McCabe over the several hundred thousand dollars in donations that his wife, a Democrat, received for her failed 2015 Virginia state Senate bid from a political action committee controlled by a close friend of Hillary Clinton

Think we will know more in the future. I predict he won't be the last to step down or get fired.

Good riddance.

Hopefully there are charges brought against him if he was involved in covering up the Clintons' scams and fiascos.

He refused to pledge eternal loyalty to Zod...

I’m so confused at this point I can’t tell if the spin of this is going to be pro-Trump or a sign of Trump ‘firing’ the people investigating him

Exactly... I have no idea what to think anymore

It's interesting to me that he couldn't wait six more weeks before stepping down. Either he got stepped down or something is in the air that he doesn't want to be in charge for, imo.

EIDT: nm, just saw @Diamond Jim 's post

I don't agree with your suggestion that he's going to write speculative fiction for Trumptards to jerk off to on the internet. He's probably just going to hang out on his porch with his wife.

Damn State of the Union hasn't even happened yet and everyone's already forgotten about it...

Or he sees things going down a path he wants nothing to do with... OR now that he is a citizen he can speak openly about certain things he wasn't able to before

I don't know about you but I won't be able to sit through 90 minutes of the president reading lies off a teleprompter in that somber try to be smart voice he has acting as if he actually cares about anything he is speaking on

I probably won't watch all of it because I think that is pretty much what is going to happen..

But mostly likely I will have it on in the background well making dinner or something so I can get a few lulz in...
