Fake Shoyoroll gi's? Help.

Buying an gi from ebay is a risk. I remember a year or two ago lots of fake ATAMAs coming onto ebay. It sucks, the best thing people can do to protect themselves is to buy direct from the retailer if possible.

Dude sells lots of factory seconds with the only complaints in a year was of two belts. Seems legit. I saw this a few days ago and asked a question but he hasn't responded yet.

Also it baffles me as to why a seller in the UK has 'factory seconds' from a Californian business which does not have a retail rep or factory in the UK?

Should send an email to the seller asking him outright.

I sent him a email. When I hear back I will update post. Please anyone else do the same.

Thanks to all!

Feedback wise the guy is legit. However this 'factory seconds' claim, no matter how consistent he has been with it, is fishy. He sells brand new rashguards, shorts and gloves, yet his gis are all conveniently 'factory seconds' with all tags cut off and no bags?

Im at work and cant do any emailing, but someone should email Shoyoroll and ask them if they sell their factory seconds to a e-retailer in the UK.

Easier for guys in the UK to get stuff like that from Pakistan

Oh I know big guy, I've talked to a few pakis who are willing to make any syr you want for a small price. They don't care.

Word, they'll give you any gi on the market too with the exception of the scramble. They've given me a price sheet and that was the only one not on there.

So these very well could be "fakes" even though they're from the same makers.

For realz? You just contact a specific production line in Pakistan and they will give you a quote and a menu for counterfeited gis?

Thats serious business brah, I will no longer complain about paying a couple hundred for a high quality legit gi. Peoples be losin business!

Yep, I was getting samples made for a gi I'm getting made/testing and they asked what kind of cut I wanted, gave me the sheet and said they could produce any model on the list with full original tags or my own labels.

Thats crazy, they should sticky this thread as an awareness issue to customers and manufacturers thats it is that easy. I guess the market is still really young and gi companies arent as big as top brands like quicksilver or adidas, so they probably wont have massive legal teams and market researchers trying to shut out frauds around the clock.

So for unofficial retailers and e-retailers its basically just a free for all to sell counterfeit merch?

 The more you know eh? :icon_lol:

I got a reply from the seller, I ask if the gi's were REAL Shoyoroll's? He repied, "I do not know" You can return it if not. He also has the gi in White.....

So they are made from the same factory? Or just some random factory that imitates the look. Cause if it's from the same production line it's not like the standards of manufacture are going to be dialed down for their counterfeit runs.
Apart from wanting to support the original company I don't see why you wouldn't want to buy cheap if you can. Besides, SYR isn't seeing money from any aftermarket ebay sales regardless. So he said you can return it if you don't think it's real? How would you tell anyway?

i just picked up the orange and black grab and pull because i like the colors but never got a 7th son. Very solid gi.

Yeah I read apparently this Paky company is selling left over or producing more shoyorolls lol. If its the same plant that makes shoyoroll and there selling them also on the side lol x2

A friend of mine (brown belt) opened up his own academy and already preordered some gis, he show me the quote and are the same cut from shoyoroll. The only diference is he requested them with his own academy patches.

Around 2 months ago the shipment arrived and is the same quality, same stiches, same cut, same fit as the shoyoroll. And he is selling them for his students aroun $125.00
