Hi

I will be starting boxing classes next month and I'm planning to compete so I'm looking for some gloves to buy that'll last for long. I have done a lot of research but most brands (Ringside for example) that appealed to me are impossible/very expensive to get around here (Belgium).

Right now, I've found three gloves that I can get for their regular price. They're: Hayabusa Tokushu Regenesis, Venum Sharp or Fairtex Heavy Hitter Mexican Style BGV9
Which one would be best for me? I don't know whether my wrists or knuckles are weak or not.
The Fairtex appealed to me due to their 'punchers' reputation since I'd rather be an aggressive 'accurate' fighter than a more defensive blocker.

The prices(including shipping) for each glove(if it matters) are:

Hayabusa:

The Fairtex BGV9 are for bag and pad only. No sparring. The Tokushu offer the best hand and wrist protection. Can be used for bag/pad or sparring. I don't know about those Venum Sharps. Newer model and no reviews, but Venum does make some quality stuff.

Fairtex in a Muay Thai brand although you are correct in a sense the BGV9 is a very well reviewed Western Style glove so given that the Hayabusa Tokushu and the BGV9 should be your choices. Just remember don't be that guy at the gym who spars in underweight gloves that also uses those same gloves for bag/mitt work.

I won't be sparring till after 10 months anyway and by then if I'm really into boxing I'll just buy some decent sparring gloves. So if you'd have to choose one out of those, which one would it be?

I have experience with the BGV9 and Hayabusa and I'd go with the Hayabusa Tokushu Regenesis for versatility , padding and wrist support.

A lot of people are going to disagree, but I'd use the Hayabusa for everything. If you're just starting out you don't need a separate bag and sparring set because it's just an introduction to the sport. The padding on the Hayabusas are friendly for both aspects of the game. If you're at a club that competes a lot of people will use the same pair for everything. I'd honestly rather be the a**hole and inflict some pain than spending time worrying about my sparring partners comfort. My club isn't a friendly one though.

Tokushu over the BGV9 in my opinion.

fairtex for days.

BGV1 might be a better choice for your first pair of gloves.

Tokushu, best overall glove out of the ones you listed. I only use my Tokushus or my R2C C17s now.

I love my BGV9's for pad and bag work, but i wouldn't recommend them if youre also gonna spar with them
