Explain wearing this AEW T-shirt

The outrage is uniformed and stupid...this shirt was no issue for the last year and a half.

Yet..showing a professional wrestler who has a blackeye, and Is a woman?

I get "knowing your audience/reading the room" from those who are wearing it. But, really those two images and this one of Becky Lynch, are iconic for women's wrestling.

They legitimized/caused the fans to take it seriously. It's not just sex appeal/bra panty matches there are some who can legitimately work. Hell, and Britt is still an active working dentist, while continuing her wrestling career.

Images of domestic violence generally aren't someone looking completely fine with blood running down their face. It also has a name in big letters and the words "Main Event Role Model" clearly showing some type of combat sport image.

The black eye picture is literally just Britt looking sad in a hoodie with a black eye and no words. Just go up to a random person and say the words "domestic violence victim" and the first thing that will pop in their head is a women looking sad in a hoodie with a black eye.

No idea how anybody can legitimately compare the two shirts.

Before I get the typical "you mad" type of response, no I'm not mad about the dumb ass shirt lol

I'm somebody that wants AEW to succeed as a company. Having your primarily male fan base walk around wearing a shirt with no words and zero context that looks like a domestic violence victim is bad for the brand. Fox News ran stories about the dumb ass shirt for fucks sake. I'd like for Warner Discovery to actually renew this company so I can continue to watch it. Stupid ass brand risk bullshit is how TV companies eventually say "nope". Warner Discovery has been fully willing to cancel massive DC properties from their platforms, I doubt they have a whole ton of leniency towards their wrestling company being a brand risk.

Warner Discovery is already catching flack for an actual woman beater starring in their huge movie The Flash. I'm sure they're totally thrilled by media companies talking about this shirt <Lmaoo>

The shirt is fucking stupid any way and doesn't make Britt look "bad ass". She's literally just standing there looking mopey and sad lol

Edge bros have the humor and intelligence of Elon Musk but without the apartheid money.

Demanding the world conform to you and handle your bullshit is the ultimate sign of a lack of emotional development. The front cortex isn't developed in edge lords. The rest of the brain is but they're teenagers. Snowflakes as well. Bro bro

It really is juvenile to expect the world to adapt your edgelording instead of having respect for other's experiences.

I don’t think it’s offensive, but, you guys will hate this even more, I think it can be very triggering.

Having come from domestic violence, while in the depths of it I can imagine seeing a shirt like that and not knowing a thing about, I would probably spiral. I imagine it would be the same for a lot of women or children living in similar households.

Is it everybody’s responsibility to walk on eggshells to avoid upsetting others? Of course not. But I think anybody with any sense and tact wouldn’t go to the grocery store wearing this. Maybe Walmart tho . . . Lol.
