Perfectly cast. All the characters are smart, the sound design, the set, the music, it's flawless. And I will fight anyone who disagrees! Go watch it Gen Z.
SissyNo it isn't. Good movie though. Hellraiser in space.
Oi!I get Event Horizon and The Sphere mixed up, but that's because they're both shit
Great film for its time.I was always more of a In The Mouth of Madness fan myself..
Hellraiser in space.
It's far from the best, and hasn't aged very well, but it is definitely super effective. Absolutely scared the shit out of me as a kid, and I didn't scare easily on horror films even back then. I've rewatched it as an adult and it wasn't the same, although it's still pretty solid
Not sure how many would agree but for me The Thing is the best I've seen

No, it isn't, but it's maybe the most underrated horror movie ever. I still remember my dad letting me watch it (over my mom's protests) when it premiered on HBO. Scared the shit out of me back then and it's still horrifying. I also got to see it as the midnight showing to cap the 5th Sci-Fi Spectacular at The Music Box in Chicago.
And anything with Laurence Fishburne automatically rules
I always think of it as The Thing in space or a horror Solaris
What do you mean "hasn't aged very well"? Do you mean as you aged it ceased being as scary, or are you referring to the effects or other film-related aspects that look worse compared to contemporary films? For me, I find it impressive that it still works with its Hell-as-another-dimension conceit, the graphic imagery, and most of all the brilliant audio and video footage of what happened to the previous ship and crew, which is the one aspect that I actually think Event Horizon did better than The Thing (although The Thing is still the superior film).

The missing content of the Event Horizon film includes several scenes that were cut from the original release, such as:
- A scene where Dr. Weir receives a briefing about the ship's return, which includes graphic details about the crew's fate.
- A disturbing discovery of a human tooth floating in the ship's corridors, which was not included in the final cut.
- A gruesome sequence where the gravity couches fill with blood and explode, showcasing the crew's horrific experiences.
- A scene where Captain Miller discovers a disturbing discovery while exploring the ship, which was also omitted from the final version.
These scenes were reportedly so extreme that test audiences were reportedly horrified by their content, leading to the cuts during post-production.
It fucking is!!!!! It's so overlooked!!!!! The build up of creepy is just fucking perfect.Perfectly cast. All the characters are smart, the sound design, the set, the music, it's flawless. And I will fight anyone who disagrees! Go watch it Gen Z.
