Which one of these two ladies is supposed to smear Alexa Grasso and take the belt?

I'll go with Blanchfield. Tatiana's performance against Nina makes me question whether she has the cardio to go 5 rounds.

First there was the neck injury that she dealt with since her wrestling days but got aggravated in June of 2019, both before and during her win over Nina Nunes. But that wasn’t the crazy one. The crazy injury happened to her knee in July of 2021, forcing her out of a UFC 266 bout against Roxanne Modafferi and putting her career on hold.

She wasn’t healthy going into that fight, and aggravated the injury during the fight. I’ll take her word for that. So I don’t put a lot of stock into that fight. But nevertheless she did win.

Grasso is rightfully the champion of WFLW after seeing an opportunity for victory and seizing on it masterfully. She is a very good fighter but I would still favor every single fighter ranked in the Top 5 to beat her.

They would probably all be close fights, some closer than others, but generalists with low finishing ability typically do not stay at the top for very long if they manage get there.

Tatiana Suarez has already beaten Grasso, ironically...but she won't be the one to take Grasso's 125lb title. Suarez has been on the record saying she wants to fight 1t 115 again (where she will be an absolute terminator, I think). I think Blanchfield could very well take the 125lb title, if she gets a chance.

I hope you're right. I was very high on her at the time; thought she was by far the best prospect in wmma. At this point, I'm not sure what to expect from her going forward, but I hope she can at least stay healthy for a while. She's had a tough run of bad luck.

I saw an interview with Erin.

It said she's been doing bjj + muay thai since under 10.

I can see the grappling, girl is a beast. But her striking looks sloppy even though she's 12-15 or so years deep in training. Kinda strange.

I don't see Blanchfield getting past Grasso's standup & TDD, but I carry a bias in this matter.

Tatiana is claiming she is moving back down but she is looking thick. They are both bad matchups for each other. I don’t think Blanchfield can take Tatiana down and I don’t think Tatianna wants to be on the ground with Blanchfield. Erin is a little more seasoned on her feet but she isn’t that good yet. The tide on the feet was turning against her in the Andrade fight but she took it to the ground at the perfect time to seize the victory.
