Hey everyone!

I'm about to order some custom gloves from Sabas strictly to spar in and I was unsure if getting it embroidered will ruin the integrity of the leather/make them more susceptible to ripping.. I've looked everywhere for an answer but wasn't able to come up with anything. Can anyone who has embroidered gloves/ or experience with this help me out?

Thanks for y'all help!

I doubt the leather would be the first thing to go if the glove were to wear down. Although, I'd imagine print would be preferable to embroidered for sparring. Just to prevent abrasions on your partner. I've been scraped by exposed Velcro while sparring so I imagine that something similar could happen with embroidered gloves.

But as to your original question: your gloves should be fine. The reason you don't find anything about it online is because no one has had that problem.

As said above, be sure to only get printed on images for sparring. while the back of the gloves don't make contact with the face often accidents do happen and that nylon they use for embroidering tears your face up like nothing else, I've had numerous slices on my face from sparring guys who have had some stitching come apart, let alone an embroidery on the back.
