They would not be the first Sanda fighter's to compete in North America Muslim Salikhov, Cung Le and Weilli Zhang all have backgrounds to a very high level in Sanda.

Nevertheless China top team and some of the sports universities in China run a brutal training routine comparable to D1 wrestling programme only for Sanda. In the case of Zhang from what I understand she was mostly training on her own before getting into MMA in her early twenties.

With the ever increasing number of wrestle boxer's it would seem the lighter division's would ripe to take on some of these guy's with only a minimum of cross training.

So how do you think they would do?

How's his ground game?

I don’t think they have any ground game really.

Even the Chinese wrestling style that a lot of them train in Shuai Jiao might be the only wrestling style with zero ground game.

That said the Fedor vs Big Nog 3 gameplan has been shown to be effective several times in MMA.

They could also cross train.

Not UFC, but OG Bozigit Ataev is a five-time world champion in Wushu-sanda.

He's retired, but Cung Le is a very decorated Sanda fighter. He used the sanda trips very effectively in his fights.

Edit: Muslim Salikhov as well. He's a multiple times world champion in Sanda.

Muay thai is much better suited for MMA than sanda is in my opinion.

You can use singles and doubles in Sanda though, you can’t use them in Muay Thai.

Muay Thai guys have the edge in the clinch for sure but singles/doubles are a more common technique in MMA in my opinion.

how does a single/double get scored in Sanda? is it like a takedown in MMA, just with an immediate standup, or is it like Judo and some forms of Sambo where a takedown can end the fight in some instances?
I mean, if it's none of those and it's basically not scored and there's no threat to ending the fight then it's more a gimmick than a tactical move

I'm sure on the particulars but you can earn points for takedowns.

It’s usually scored as 2 points in their scoring system.

A jab to the head is 1 point.

It would be true to say they are not the weapon they are in MMA because they are a huge energy burn compared to other takedowns, though they are still a relatively common technique.
