Anyone know anything about these? Mine is silver, short, and wasn't working, so I opened it up to change the batteries and stuff fell out like one AAA battery, a dumbell shaped spring, a plastic hockey puck with metal connections, a little metal pacifier with a spring at the end.

It has this special AAA battery cartridge that allows the 3 AAA batteries to be bundled rather than serial (back to back to back). Are these cartridges like standard and compatible with other flashlights where I can buy a replacement cartridge anywhere?

what's with all of your sudden tech problems bro?

What you talk about Willis? Two tech probs. One likely fixed. My flashlight stopped working while I was using it to look inside my computer. I know many Sherdoggies like multi-tools/leatherman/etc, so probably also know about flashlights.

Apparently these flashlights from Sam's Club are designed like crap and the battery carrier/holder/cartridge breaks and then you're screwed. I just read quite a few Amazon reviews from others with the same broken battery holder. I suppose any replacement that takes the juice from 3 AAA batteries and presents them to the top part should work as long as it fits inside the flashlight. I'm going to check out a specialty battery store later.

I have another similar flashlight, but haven't used it in ages and the battery holder is stuck inside and stuff leaking in there and can't get the holder out to replace batteries.

DVR issues? PC booting issues?

Ok yeah. So 3 things. So what. Others will benefit from the solutions when they have the same problem later.

not trying to be a dick dude. genuinely asking, like what's going on, is all.

Buy a new flashlight! They're only a couple of bucks or look for a coupon from Harbor Freight to get one free.

Think about it a little bit; it's not too hard to put back together. You can do it, I believe in you.

could be repaired if you are inclined with that stuff, but easier just to buy another light..the sipik 68 clones are not bad beater lights that take 1xaa..I give them out to family and friends..go for 6-7$ on ebay or from chinese sites..PM me if you need more help..

You don't even know how broken it is. I took a better lit look at it yesterday, and apparently the main part where the batteries are supposed to be is supposed to be screwed to a hockey puck piece and the nipple w/spring is supposed to be sandwiched in between. The part the 2 screws are supposed to anchor into broke off from the main part, so maybe I can buy the same width screw, but longer and try to re-anchor, but I'd still have to somehow put back the dumbell spring and hope it stays put. The plastic was piece of crap plastic.

I'm going to try to check more hardware stores for a new cartridge before attempting that.

These things are supposed to be able to be run over by cars and still work. I never did anything that rough with it and the internal plastic broke. Many others had the exact same problem. It's a pure shit design with pure shit materials. I wonder if the plastic became brittle from the heat inside the flashlight, but LED is supposed to produce less heat than older bulbs.

^^ Did you buy one or a three pack? Open a good one and put the bad one back together. Or try to return to store for an exchange if you can. If it's taking more than 5 minutes of your time, probably better to get a new one. Didn't mean to offend, I just talk terse and to the point.

Nothing worse than a cheap flashlight.

I spent the cash on a tmt L1 5.11+ tactical flashlight and love it, iuse mine a ton for work so spending the money makes sense to me, but go out and spend 20$ on a maglight and quit goofing around with the 1-10 dollar pieces of junk

I got it as a gift. I think it was from Costco or Sam's Club, and some of the stuff they sell is top quality.

I'm leaning towards not spending good money after bad money and not buying a replacement cartridge if I can find one. The design is just pure shit.

I don't think I can stick a C or D battery in there without some doohickey to make contact with the battery's bottom and send it to the top.

I got a Maglite from work, but I think the battery got messy inside and I can't open the cap to replace batteries. I misplaced it too. It's also not LED. I tried to use pliers to open the cap and all that did was scratch the paint.

I feel the pain of the original poster. .... I have 3 flashlights that take the horribly designed battery packs that are in SO MANY of these cheap LED flashlights nowadays. I found one website besides this one on the subject. My conclusion is that I must get a solder iron and just carefully make a pack for each light. I feel that the time will be well spent if i use some quality lithium batteries since the lights are LED and the batteries should last quite a while. I won't get into details here, as most people who have the equipment and skill to do such a thing will have the knowlege to make one properly. If someone could patent a replacement cartridge for these lights that actually held together to make solid contact for more than half a day of use they could make a mint i bet : ) as for me , more money; more problems. Good luck everybody!!!!

Local hardware stores & big box hardware stores don't carry the 3x AAA battery holder/carriers/cartridges. I'm going to try ordering from Amazon.
