One of the most exciting and dangerous fighters in the UFC

Edson has been through some wars in the LW division.

We know what his strong and weak points are, and I feel like the FW would be a better division for him to go for that title run. If he can make weight and stay healthy of course.

How do you guys see his chances at FW division and who should be a good debut in the division for him? Maybe a top 10 like Kattar or even # 7 Moicano?

Thoughts?

Assuming the UFC gives him a fight by the way it sounds, on paper it doesn't sound like it would be good for him just based on how much mass he would have to lose.

He asked to be released because ufc can’t find him a fight at FW, LW, or WW

I'd like to see him against a guy like Arnold allen, shane burgos or sodiq yusuff. Hell, mix those four guys up however you please and we'll have great fights.

I think the weight cut ruins his already suspect chin, guys like Kattar and Josh Emmett would brutally knock him out.

I think skill-wise he'd do great there, but i think he'd have a hard time going through that cut without being drained at featherweight.
I mean, the guy looks like this at lightweight:

...anyways, i really hope the UFC keeps him. The guy is a must watch.

I believe by most measures (height, weight, reach, muscularity), Barboza is about the same size or bigger than GSP.

Going to FW would be stupid.

Weight? No way man.
Barboza fought at 145 before. A long time ago, but still.
After Aldo was succesfull with that huge cut, I wouldnt be shocked. Maybe all he needs is better assistance.

Absolutely not.

People confuse shredded for big. He regularly posts his weight on Instagram and has been under 170 outside of camp (168-169) for a long time. He starts camp under 170 which is small for a LW and definitely smaller than Holloway.

Compare size to Paul Felder who is actually big.
