I watched this documentary when I was a kid. I looked up at her happened to Red. Looks like they locked up his wife too.

His poor daughter will grow up on the streets.

I didn’t know they could give you life in prison for selling drugs. I thought you had to kill people for that to happen.

Alexander Rivera, a/k/a “Reds”, 30, of Philadelphia, was sentenced today to life in prison, plus an additional 60 months for a drug conspiracy and other related charges in connection with running the Alexander Rivera Narcotics Distribution Organization (“ARDO”), announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. Between February 2006 and September 2010, Rivera ran the ARDO, controlling drug distribution in and around the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Lawrence Street in North Philadelphia, as well as other areas in Philadelphia. Rivera obtained cocaine, crack, heroin, and PCP that his co-defendants would then sell on the street. Rivera was convicted of all charges at trial along with his wife, Ileana Vidal, a/k/a “Diana,” 26, who was only charged with conspiracy. The indictment also charged 15 co-defendants, who pleaded guilty to their roles in the operation. Today’s sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Juan R. Sanchez.

I can’t feel sorry for a drug dealer, no matter how harsh the sentence. Pretty sure they don’t feel sorry about the countless lives they help destroy.

Depending on what he was selling he probably did kill people

Not wanting to defend drug dealers. But do we hold governments accountable for our alcoholics? They help and profit from their demise if you want to look at it that way.

How much should we hold people accountable for their own destructive behavior?

I dunno, open question.

On drugs in general my stance is: Legalize everything, everywhere to take away profit from organized crime and let people be responsible for themeselves (a lil ot I know but I wanted to say it).
