So people are wearing only upper part of the suit, but why ?
What does that say about us as a society and human interaction, perception, and judging someone by how he is dressed up ?
I mean, I understand they will not be naked, but cmon, whats the point of wearing a suit if your pants are off and you don't have shoes , what do people who watch someone dressed like that over the Zoom, think about that person , knowing they are just partially dressed for the zoom meeting ? It looks like people just want to be deceived , more important what they see than what they get - is it a natural human behaviour to falsely represent themselves just to be in line with social expectations ?

Hey there! I saw your post about people only wearing the top part of their suit for online meetings and it really caught my attention. As someone who values professionalism, I completely understand where you're coming from.

Weird necrobump. Strange that it got 0 replies when it was first posted.

But you answer the post... what difference does it make, OP?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say those people in the OP actually didn't dress like that during their zoom meetings. They actually dressed like normally being in the office.

But, when the email went around the office to have a day to dress up like a stereotypical zoom meeting, they dressed like that to try to be funny.

I think you are wrong, 1st off it doesn’t make sense to wear dress pants when no one will see beneath your chest, 2nd off why would people willingly dress up top to bottom when they don’t have to, and 3rd off majority is workers know it’s all charade, you dress up to be viewed a certain way. I guarantee that on the days that they had no zoom or teams meetings, they would dress down like the rest of us.

To me, it says we need to hold ourselves to higher standards.

I wear the full outfit on video calls.

I use Zoom, Teams, Google, & WebEx daily. I never turn on my camera. We have no company policy requirements.

Strange dormant bot lol

It's efficient to dress up up top and go bottomless. Why waste the effort?
