Dominick Cruz's trash talking angle vs Henry is corny

I don't hear this kind of thing too often in MMA, but in the Henry x Cruz media call, Cruz keeps telling Henry that he should focus more on using his platform to make a change in the world.

His angle is that Cejudo has nothing to offer besides his credentials in combat sports and that he feels sorry for the media who have to listen to Henry talk trash and boast about his accomplishments instead of being a positive inspiration for the world and making a change.

This is corny AF coming from a guy who's bragged about his accomplishments in every presser and is notorious for saying some of the cruelest, grimmiest things to his opponents pre fight, even mentioning their wives and family members.

Then he has the audacity to reference Muhammad Ali and how Ali was willing to sacrifice wealth and his career to fight for what he believes in. He's not wrong, but it just comes off like a pathetic way to try and make Cejudo lose pride and confidence in himself.

Comes off as extremely disingenuous and pretentious....it is Cruz after all, guess I can't be surprised.

For sure.
But his trash talk and all of his "cringe" is clearly an act for more publicity (which will obviously lead to money) and while I don't enjoy it , I can look at it as more of tongue-in-cheek and him just kind of dicking around.
Cruz on the other hand is being dead serious and sounds like a pretentious asshole.

That seems like a very bold prediction. Anything could happen at the end of the day and I do think Cruz is being overlooked by many in this matchup, but my hunch is that Henry's confidence right now, his power, the fact that he's in his physical prime and had his wrestling in his back pocket will be overwhelming for Cruz.

Mind you, Henry is very intelligent and his team gameplan for each opponent accordingly so I believe he will be able to land on Cruz and cut him off to win a UD or TKO him.
