"Nothing really concerned me [about Barao]," said Cruz. "I'm not just going to stand in front of him and strike all the time. I'm going to mix it up, keep him guessing. Those are all things I understand and I'm going to break this down in my head when I have to fight Barao. He's going to be confused when he gets in there and tries looking for me."

Cruz is the current UFC bantamweight champion, but has been out with an ACL injury since October 2011. His surgery didn't go as planned and he could miss another year of competition, which caused the UFC to have Barao defend his title at UFC on FUEL earlier in the day from England.

Translation: "I can totally outrun this dude for 25 minutes."

He better be. Layoff...... Injuries...... RENAN BARAO! = nasty comeback loss.

Barao vs Cruz will be the best bantamweight fight ever if/when it finally takes place.

His lack of humility shows just how worried he is. A nearly 2 1/2 yr layoff going against a guy as tough as Barao... I don't see it going well for him really without a or two tune up fights

If Cruz comes back anywhere close to where he was before, I think he works over Barao.

I find it funny how little criticism Barao has gotten for backing up constantly, yet Cruz is at the center of criticism for circling away them coming back swinging.

Does anyone like the way Cruz fights? I don't understand how someone can like his style, besides the fact he wins so maybe he gets some glory hunting fans that way.

because Barao finished his opponent.

Exactly. Cruz has done nothing but take it to each and every opponent he's faced.

Great fight, I think the strategy will change from round to round. So many skills to showcase and many counters. :icon_chee

I'd take Cruz before the injury. Don't know if he'll be different or have ring rust. He is too elusive, smart and skilled for Barao.

I think he's right, he's gunna work Barao...Barao won't b able to figure him out

^^^ I like the way Cruz fights. He's a fast striker with great conditioning and defense. He's also no afraid to mix it up and throw in styles he's not reputed for, such as wrestling. Bottom line is that his wins are all via skill, and none are from luck. Throwing "caution to the wind" is a stupid way to fight, and fighters who fight like that are just rolling the dice for Dana White. All because of this "just bleed" crowd who once thought Kimbo Slice was the next HW champ.

Watch his fights and recognize that he's one of the best.

Could be.....and im just going out on a limb here...could be thst Barao actually goes for the finish...and gets it a lot of times...not jump around like a
point fighting spaz . .....

If Cruz comes in 100% he'll outwork Barao.
