The price point for this mat seems a bit high for what it is.Fortunately, I was able to split the cost with a friend and that seems to be a fairly good idea because the mats can be separated. As for this style mat, this is probably the cheapest mat you will find on the market. Storing these mats could be a bit difficult for some. It rolls up to about 5

I was going to ask how it compared to regular 2x1 mats but then I read the review :P

If you are talking about the rectangle styled mats you would find in a school, they are of a higher quality, both in materials and construction. But that also includes a much higher price. For the same amount of sq footage, you are looking at anywhere from $150-300 more.

Since this review, I gave a couple take downs a go, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. However, I have this mat on carpet which is in turn on a carpet pad, so that give's it about another half inch of padding, maybe a tiny bit more, and I am certain that this effects the impact.

As I said in the review, they do the job but they are expensive, but they are the cheapest mats of this style that I have seen and work really well for me.

Thanks for the review, Ballistics. i was curious if you were aware of or considered the Dollamur mats for sale on Ebay. The deal is two 4'x6' flexi-rolls, but they pick the colors + free shipping. The prices range from $115-$150 depending on thickness(1"-2")and mat surface(tatami or smooth). I'm looking into these or nice puzzle mats. Being able to move them to multiple locations is a must. Wanted to know if you had any input, good or bad. Here's one example: TWO 6'x4'x1.5" Dollamur Flexi-Roll® MMA Wrestling Mats | eBay

I assume that they are the same material, but here's the thing with the dimensions for me. @ 10x10 in the area that I work in, you realistically get about 1.5' less space around the perimeter depending on you or your training partners position. In this particular dimensions case, you are gaining a foot on 2 ends, and losing a ft on the remaining ends which would make for many resets. Also, you would need to buy 2 sets of of these mat packs, to make an 8'x12' space. I personally would prefer the perfect square... 12x12 or optimally 15x15, but if size constraints do not allow a perfect square and you don't have a choice, than this could be your answer. You are essentially getting the almost the same amount of square footage as a 10x10 (100ft^2 vs 96ft^2) though, for about $80 or so less.
