Number one is obviously Jones.

Has poatan done enough to hold down the number 2 spot?

Accolades 2 time LHW Champion, 3 overall title defenses.

Other notable LHW champions:
Tito Ortiz - 3 year reigh, 5 title defenses.
Randy Couture - 2 time LHW never defended his belt
Chuck liddel - one of hte most influential champions of all time, 4 title defenses
DC - one time champ. Oblivious number 2 to jon jones during jones lwh reign. Defended the title 3 times. IMO he is the strongest contender to number 2 overall vs alex. It could be argued that DC would beat poatan if they had ever fought.

I’m sorry but can somebody explain the appeal of these “all time” discussions? There’s multiple a day, every day. Seems to me they all boil down to the same handful of arguments recycled ad nauseum. I just don’t understand why the mma community obsesses over meaningless subjective lists.

DC beats the breaks off anyone not named Jon Jones. Would have beat the shit out of Alex too. Alex has bigger accomplishments at LHW, because Jon Jones in his prime is not in the division. Yes, DC beats Randy, Chuck, Wanderlei, Shogun, etc...

i dont endorse it but i can explain the appeal .... humans love rankings - they're easy to understand, and have an emotional appeal to it

We need a greatest of all time.... greatest of all time thread. What greatest of all time thread is the greatest of all time.
