For those who follow wmma.

It seems Aldana is gonna get the next crack at Amanda. Has she got a chance? I think so. This lady is no joke. She comes to crack skulls. Her boxing is crisp, and unlike a lot of ladies, she packs some serious power. All of her recent wins have come by finishes. I can say with confidence she will have the advantage in the stand-up. Amanda is strong and might be able to just bully her, but Aldana wins on technique and precision. I can totally see her catching Amanda and putting her out.

However, she's not without flaws. Obviously Nunes has the advantage on the ground game, and I'm not too confident on Aldanas takedown defense, so that makes it really hard to pick her. However, she stands an actual chance lol, and that's a lot more than I can say for others.

Irene Aldana is no soccer mom Sherbros. There's a decent chance she hurts Amanda bad, even if she doesn't win. This could be a great fight if and when it comes to pass.

No, she was getting beaten by Macy Chiasson until she landed the upkick that wouldn't work most of the time. Amanda smashes her most likely.

Yes, Aldana has better boxing imo and a good gas tank. Nunes only has a straight one two for the most part with good leg kicks.

She doesn't have the ground game, but I think she might give Manda something to think about on the feet.

No, that fight was even. Aldana won the first, Macy the second. Macy was on hervway to winning the third until Aldanas finish though.

Is this going to be at 135 or 145?
At 135 maybe she has a chance so I expect Amanda to want it at FW. If Amanda doesn't have to drain herself to hit 135 she wins easily. As soon as she feels any danger on the feet she takes it to the ground. That will be harder at 135.

Yes, she has legitimate KO power...Enough size... Good Movement and what I think is signifigant speed advantage

This fight would be very competitive. Aldana is a VERY REAL THREAT
Is there anything that Raquel Pennington & Holly Holm brought to the table that nunes is incapable of replicating?

She was injured in the Holly Holm fight. There are X-Rays of her broken foot that you can google.

And the Pennington fight was spilt decision that easily could have gone her way. Plus it was almost 4 years ago Aldana has improved significantly since then

Look I'm not saying she is going dominate or anything. Only that it is foolish to write her off completely

Could be a very exciting fight to watch!

Amanda Nunes has been awarded 5 UFC Performance-Of-The-Night bonuses.

Irene Aldana has been awarded 2 UFC Performance-Of-The-Night bonuses and 2 UFC Fight-Of-The-Night bonuses.

These fighters certainly have the potential, in this fight, to earn yet another bonus for one, or both, of themselves!

Yes, because Nunes is definitely beatable.

Maybe. Nunes is only getting older. Peña got one over on her, wouldn’t surprise me if more follow suit soon.

I get what your saying. I like Aldana. I just feel like Nunes…is like….you know…nunes.

It seems like she’s maybe a little prone to getting bullied by bulkier fighters that are stronger. She’s definitely improved, but I think the gap between her improvement and being good enough to beat amanda is significant

I think a Prime Amanda Nunes dispatches her with relative ease.

But I also think Prime Amanda Nunes is a solid 2ish years in the rear view.

What I saw of Aldana in her prior fights didn't scream "champion" but I guess you never know. I didn't think Glover would be champion in 2021-2022.

Fair enough but who would rather have Nunes fight??

We have seen alot upsets in the past couple years. Aldana beating Nunes would be nowhere close to the biggest

Anyone know if it would be 135 or 145?

Aldana has fought at 140 in 4 of her last 7 per wiki. (Several due to opponent missing weight)
