Does anyone know if he’s gonna make the leap and if so at what weight class? Dude is a beast, would love to see more of these guys come over to mma especially at heavyweight.6C6066FF-0F29-4752-AF57-684F06EAF1D5.jpeg

You hear that sort of thing all the time with high level grapplers.

Journalist is like 'hey have you ever thought about trying mma', successful wrestler/sambist/jiujiteiro is like 'yeah i might be interested in it well see what happens'.

Bam one box on the interview checklist ticked off.

Not Sadulaev, but former Greco-Roman World, European and 2x European Games gold medalist, Stepan Maryanyan is planning to cross over to MMA
A video here of him training with former Greco-Roman Olympic Silver medalist, Migran Harutyunyan:

Awesome, it’s always cool when the top of the top in their combat sports goes to MMA. It happens a little more with Bjj guys than with other grappling styles and barely any strikers switch over to MMA.

Migran himself has taken a few fights. Even trained here in the US with the Hayastan guys in North Hollywood. He's a beast. But took a loss pretty early.

I just hope he stays well away from Edmond. But yeah, I remember seeing him getting spinning kicked in the face.
Hopefully he can have a few more fights, he can definitely do well with his physique and athleticism, but striking and comfort is pretty tough at any stage of a career, even more so at 30+

If you are a strong wrestler your strategy is Wrestling not striking. Totally wrong strategy in the last fight.
Madsen is a good example. Ali Isaev is another example.

Greco guys often are disapointing in mma. Being the style with the most limited ground game doesnt help.

His striking mechanics are pretty fantastic considering his level of experience. However, he shouldn't get too comfortable out there. He's a wrestler.

In my opinion there are a few wrestlers that progressed perfectly as they became more well rounded fighters. One that comes to mind is Koscheck. He was just a wrestler, then began taking more chances with GnP and positional grappling. Then he developed a jab to compliment that big right hand. Then he refined his hands. Then added the occasional kick. Then he's a top contender. He didn't stray too far from his comfort zone in any given fight early on.

If you are a wrestler i would go to aka . They specialize in turning wrestlers to mma fighters
