I have to take daily train rides of 4 hours long and I'm thinking of spending that time shadowboxing since I have literally nothing else to do. Don't really care if I get funny looks or get laughed at since I'm sick of doing nothing for 4 hours

Just wondering if anyone else has experience of shadowboxing in public?

I think the real reason most guys would do that is to show other people that they box without just saying it. Why not read a book?

Be careful dude. Some may see it as a challenge and try to take you on after seeing how you fight.

I do it in my hall of mirrors.

On a fucking train? Right beside the girl practicing her pole dancing?

Only time I ever did that was while running or jogging. And even then people look at you like you are nuts. But fuck'em dude if they look at you funny. You're doing your thing. Do what i do stare back like they are crazy.

4 hours?

Do some yoga instead.

Hell, take some dumbbells and start pumping your guns. Works best in tight vale tudo-style shorts and a string vest. That'll land you some career bitches' numbers on the way to work, too, so you'll kill multiple birds with one stone.

Damn I just realized, 4 hours to work and 4 hours back?

That fucking SUCKS. Find a job closer to home or something. You spend a whole workday going back and forth. You could be making money during that time

It's for college, still looking for a room

And no its 4 hours in total

On public transport, definitely not. Roadwork in the morning, yea. I'll stop off in a park somewhere and do a bit here and there. I like to think over techniques and situations in my head when I'm alone on public transport. Revise things mentally over and over. Read boxing magazines whenever I have them, or if I have my laptop watch fights or highlights.

No, I don't trust people to leave me alone or not ask dumb questions.

I only really shadow box when no one is around or watching (other than in the gym). Mainly cause I'm just a beginner so I make mistakes and since I am uber self conscious when people are watching me I tend to look even worse cause I am beating myself up for it.

I'd say figure out how to not take a 4 hour commute everyday. That is pretty ridiculous. And yeah, like other people said, it is probably not a good idea. Read a book, or sleep.
