Got my 1st blue gi & I'm doing the vinegar soak then after I'm going the throw it in the wash. Can I throw in some of my dirty white gis along with it or should I wash the blue gi by itself?

The first time after the soak should just be a rinse cycle, then after you wash it like normal. After the first normal wash, I wash different colors together.

I wash my blue, black, and white gis together. Nothing has ever exploded and the world has not ended.

No they would bleed together terribly; than you would have a crappy looking sky blue gi and you would look like a wuss.

I can only fit one gi in my washer at a time.

I would be more wary of having anything red going in with my white gi though

If your washer, then no. Anytime I washed more than one Gi, felt like washer would break. And you should be washing on hot so colors will bleed.

Just don't do it if its a new gi. I soak any new gis i have in vinegar/water for 24 hours to help set the color and keep it from bleeding. Then I just wash all my gis regardless of color in cold water, hang dry. Recently moved into a place that has a heavy duty washer. Can wash 5 gi tops/5 gi pants at once. Pretty amazing considering my last place I could only wash 2 gi tops and 1 pant at once.

What's the ratio of water to vinegar?

I do 2 cups of vinegar to about 2 gallon-4 gallons of water. I soak my gis in a giant plastic storage bin.

Then after the soak, just wash it as normal by itself in cold water using detergent and hang dry.

To be on the safe side you might want to wash them separately until you are confident that they will not bleed out. I wash my blue and white gis together now but I washed separately for a while.

BTW the vinegar soak will not set the color.

Haha I got a 5 year old blue gi, never ever wash it with my white ones, I'm sure its fine to do so now, bit its just a habit.

I wash my white/black/blue gis with anything that needs washing clothes, towels, cats

no problems with colors so far.
