I'm not really a desert kind of guys but I'll take a little nanaimo bar here and there. You guys down with the NB?

If anyone posts the mint ones you're getting reported tho

Never heard of him.

yes they are divine, and as all things divine they are terribly bad for you

Subtle Canadian snobbery, I'm down. I love those things, a box from m&m's is a great little treatsy poo

Yep. My mom has a good recipe for Nanaimo bars.

We also went to Vancouver Island a few times when I was a kid and passed through Nanaimo itself. I expected the dessert to be everywhere but instead it just seemed like an ordinary town. Very disappointing.

You’d think so but no. I remember going on family vacations there in I think 1993, 1996 and 2001. Probably a few times in the 80s as well because my grandparents briefly moved to Victoria from 1979 to 1984 but I would have been too young to remember.

This seems very Canadian..
I dont like that

I never heard of them before 12/19, but stumbled upon the recipe and made some for a cookie swap.

Absolutely delicious. Everyone in the cookie swap said they were really good.

Them and "all dressed" potato chips are some Canadian treasures, IMO.
