Do you count a title unification a title defense?

I think it's unfair to claim McGregor hasn't defended his belt. He won his belt (whether you think it's legitimate or not doesn't mean shit) against Chad Mendes, and Unified and Defended his belt against Jose Aldo by KOing one of the GOATS in 13 seconds.

I think a Diaz rematch is fucking retarded, but stop acting like he just got in, beat some easy scrubs and tried to duck the weight class. Dude KO'd Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo back to back.

no, he did not defend his belt because it was not his to defend.

Only if the real champ wins as that's the only title that actually matters.

chad mendes is no match for conor because hes too short. thats why conor called him a midget. he likes draining himself to the point of being a skeleton so he can bully and tower over guys with his height and reach.

Doesn't count.

When you are the interim title holder, and facing the champion, you are the challenger. Your interim title ceases to exist. You are not defending anything.

ur not a champ until youve defended your belt

If Aldo had won it would be considered a title defense, but Conor was the interim champion. He was never the actual champion until he defeated Aldo.

He was already a UFC featherweight champion. he UNIFIED his title, not took the real one.

No.
Your revisionism gets you nowhere against facts.
Aldo was the champion.
he was, at best, interim (second class, replacement champion)

Maybe because in the 20 years the UFC has been around its never been done that way.

McGregor has 0 defenses.

Interim just means he's not the undisputed champion, because the undisputed champion is unable to fight (which he was)

It's literally a championship.

if the incumbent wins to unify, then yes, it's a defense. but if the interim wins, then it's not.

dude, give it up.
you are wrong.
there's ONE champion.
Interim is a joke title while the REAL champion is hurt.

Only IF the interim is able to BEAT the champion, he becomes the de-facto champion.

Interim is NOT a real champion.
So Conor did not defend his belt yet.

Spin as you wish, you are just delusional.
