Divinity Original Sin 2 or Path of Exile?

Ive been searching for a new online rpg since diablo 3 was a let down, and im a huge diablo fan.

Later this year path of exile releases on xbox one and before that the new expansion releases.

Later on Divinity Original Sin 2 comes out. DOS 2 looks like the best new rpg ive seen in a long time. Im hoping it will be great.

Im just torn on what game I should play. Maybe both? Im a sucker brand new RPGs so I think Ill be buying DOS 2 either way.

Which one do you guys think will be better? Anyone played the DOS 2 beta?

I don't know what it was about DOS - I gave it a good fifteen hours of so of playtime, both solo and co-op, and I just don't like the combat. I wish it was real-time like Diablo.

Why not both? PoE is f2p afterall and will have a shit ton of content. The skill tree is absolutely intimidating. If you just want to crush things and loot to your heart's content, go with that. This sounds more up your alley.

The Divinity games are truly unique but the combat is way different compared to a Diablo/PoE game. It's turn based but at least in D:OS, it's really dynamic with the different spell and ability combos you can pull off. Larian is one of the most creative rpg studios around and the writing and humor in their games is fantastic. If you can get a friend to co-op with you, you'll enjoy it even more.

Divinity is great, but isn't what you are looking for. Its a single-player RPG that allows for online-coop with a few friends. Its not online-focused.

If you're looking to fill the Diablo void, PoE is the way to go. DoS is great but much, much different. Slower, more methodical, harder, etc. .PoE is an arpg through and through. And has a shit ton if content along with being a legitimate FTP game.

Yeah, if you're a disheartened Diablo fan you're after PoE. The latter is the F2P piggybacker on the former's innovations grown out of western dissatisfaction with the former.

What a bizzare comparison. PoE is like Diablo II. DOS is like Baldur's Gate 2. No comparison at all.

Anyone else trying DOS 2 since it got out of alpha phase? I'm trying all my builds on hybrid class to see which is the best and at least utilizes all armor and weapon types rather than sell them as waste

same here, just when I get a new weapon or learn a new spell and think I`m a badass I get starched...

You really have to think about your character builds and battle strategies...one has to compliment the other

Glad the game is doing well. Larian deserves all the success in the world and DOS2 will be the next game I purchase once I whittle down some of my backlog.

POE is the true Diablo II successor. Diablo 3 was not .If you are a Diablo II fan, you should definitely play POE.

It took around a year for DOS console ports. I don't know if they'll be quicker this time but Pillars Of Eternity is a good alternative in the meantime
