I know you smartasses want to say "50lbs" but I want to know if there is any benifit to getting a 150 bag over a 100 bag, or visa versa. I know someone who is selling a TKO 150lb bag for $50 and didn't think I would need anything bigger than 100, but it's a good price for basically brand new bag.
I will mostly be doing it for cardio work.

50lbs... :icon_chee

Go for it... for $50 you aren't going to lose as long as you hang it properly.

Good you saved me making a thread. I would also know the difference between them as I am considering purchasing one for punhcing/kicking. Any help guys would be great!

It really depends on the person hitting the bag. You don't want your bag to move around wildly while using it, as that hinders the whole experience. On the flip side, if you're a lighter puncher, you don't want a bag so heavy that it barely moves or not at all. This could lead to stress injuries. Find the middle ground, which is why 100# bags are so popular. They're good for most everyone.

In conclusion- If you yourself are a lighter fighter with lighter punches the 150 lb. bag will probably be no good. If you're a heavier fighter with strong punches, the 150 lb. will be fine.

Can you take out sand to lighten one up or would it not work if you did that?

Depends on the bag. Some are sealed so there's no access to the filler content. Depending on the bag, it may not even be sand. Of course then you have to contend with lightening the bag to where you want it, where to store the extra filler you took out etc..

I would say if you're wanting to do something along those lines, go with a water filled bag.

I'm questioning whether or not it is actually 150lbs or not. I went to the TKO website, and searched the web as much as I could, and couldn't find where TKO makes a 150lb bag.

50lb bag is too little, 100 lb is perfect, 150 f0r 50 bux I would buy for sure.
