Jean has some crazy moments. When it works it can be flashy, but he exposes himself too much

R1 he tried a crazy spin kick out of distance, which almost cost him the fight

R2 he was winning the exchanges, felt too comfortable and exposed himself again. Exactly what his coach told him NOT to do between R1 and R2.

I mean, hes physical, he has a chin, he hits hard. He seems like a very good fighter, but he needs to be more focused and follow the gameplan.

Volk even says that the KO from Makhachev changed his mindset and that he felt something was off during the Topuria fight and in training camp.

I've never been truly convinced that Topuria beats even this past prime version of Volk if he didn't come back way too soon after the Islam KO.

I'm sure hes declined somewhat, nobody is at their best at 36 especially in the lower weight classes. But hes also one of the best p4p fighters in the history of the sport, so even a slightly declined version is still very effective.
