I just got done re-watching Blue Ruin. He's a solid actor, and he plays a damn likable character

He also does a great job in this scene as a limo driver in Louis' show

Had no idea it was the same guy. Pretty cool, though.

Watched Blue Ruin last week and didn’t realise it was him. I mean, why would I... But yeah that’s cool. He was good in Blue but I didn’t love the film like some did.

Yeah, I didn't like it as much the second time. Solid movie for 90 minutes though.

It's good considering the budget and experience of the filmmaker. Reminds me of when indie films first started getting attention in the 90's. Part of their charm was that the movie was good enough to get wide distribution with few advantages.

Solid movie. I really like the main actor. He was good in Green Room

If you guys liked Blue Ruin and Green Room, you should check out the films of Benson & Moorhead. They are a directing team ala the Coens. They have a similar indie vibe as those Saulnier films. I would start with their first one, Resolution. It’s currently on amazon prime. I wouldn’t read the description, gives too much away. Worth a watch.

Nice thanks. I did like green room too.

Y'know this thread really makes me wonder how many great actors never get attention because they don't have the look of a lead actor.

I mean essentially only the beautiful people get to develop their craft in lead roles. So Brad Pitt is a great actor, yes, but he's been given opportunities to get damn near any role he wanted, so he's had more practice.

Look at that fat girl that played precious. Everyone went Gaga over her performance but that was literally a once in a lifetime opportunity. She'll likely never get a lead role again.

Same with this guy. Really good performances, but he's doomed to small roles with seconds of screen time.

Makes me wonder who is really the best actor in the world. Gerard Depardieu maybe?
