Media Daniel Cormier: “Jon Jones doesn’t look like the same guy at heavyweight”

Is DC right?

I agree but at the same time he was in there with the fastest, most athletic guy in the division and he looked equally as fast and athletic. It's because we're so used to seeing him at 205. No one is beating Jones at HW unless he stays around too long.

The fight was over too soon to tell

but common sense will tell me, yes the 35-year-old putting on all that extra weight after a long layoff is obviously not in his prime anymore

Is normal
I don’t think it has to do with Jon being in his prime or not, but obviously he’s going to move different after putting on all that weight

The fastest most athletic guy with no grappling. Might looks different against Blaydes or Aspinall

Pretty much this, all though I feel as if it were anybody else, Jon would be getting much more praise that he does kinda deserve!(PED failures or not;))

But yeah, his return fight for the HW championship was over too quickly for anyone to definitively say that Jon is still 100%.

Although there is more evidence to suggest that Jon is/should be on the decline as he is 35+, at a heavier weight he just started to fight in(even though a literal decade of teasing of moving up), extremely long lay off, outside factors, and now having to face opponents that are far more likely to be his size or even bigger.

So it's safe to say that Jon is on the decline, but still seemingly great enough to pull off championship wins.

Well Jones is 35yrs old, 3yr layoff and also fight miles.

At some point he wont look the same.

Bigger question is, does DC want a piece or not?

Depends if it comes with a side of mashed potatoes and mac n'cheese

Jones may not be as fast as he was at 205, but no one who goes from LHW>HW is. All that matters is how fast he is relative to the rest of the division. Gane is one of the fastest HWs and Jones was moving like he was a few steps ahead of him in the small amount of time the fight went on. DC himself wasn't as quick at HW, but still I wouldn't say he was slow because he was much faster than everyone else. Just seems like an odd takeaway to what was pretty much a perfect fight for Jones.
