Conor is a much bigger superstar and Dana is no rush with him like ehh I'll talk when he is actually able to fight.
I think his hatred for Francis is eternal and it's more relevant than his love for 'scumbag' Jones.

He's trying to establish the narrative that Jones would've easily beat Francis, not necessarily because he hates Francis (although I'm sure he does) but because he wants to legitimize the HW champ. Jones moving to HW and choking out Gane is basically damage control for Francis leaving with the belt. When Jones takes care of Stipe who has a win over Francis Dana will use it as pseudo proof that Jones was always gonna beat Francis.
