How the hell did Mokaev survive that leg lock? His knee must be fucked up.

This guy is serious trouble.

He lost that fight imo, he shouldve tapped. Its unfair to not tap to perfect kneelock
Basically that. His toughness is incredible but it's similar to Jones getting his arm torn apart against Vitor. The things with joints is if you don't tap there is no clear way to stop the fight unless a tap. Bendo would get into arm bars and you'd think the same thing here but his arm would be fine after the fight. Dude is tough though. He basically said he needed his shoulder surgery so it didn't matter to tack on his knee too. Being 23 and having that mentality can't be good for his future though.

Lol this. Dude should have tapped. Saving that 0 for a torn up knee is not worth it.
He said he needs shoulder surgery which sometimes keeps you out longer so he added the knee to the receipt. Honestly in the long run having 0 losses might make him more money assuming he goes far. Jones' 1 loss even though BS I think slightly softens his GOAT status.

Mokaev looked like shit for being 12th ranked vs an unranked debutant tonight.

I agree he underperformed but he was fighting with a bum shoulder and Filho is legit tough despite being unranked. I was impressed at how well he scrambled and stuffed Mokaev’s takedowns.

Mokaev won’t be the next Jon Jones - still has a lot to work on - but to be fighting like at at 22 years old, the potential is clearly there.

Man, I wonder if he could've finished it if he had put the foot behind the lat muscle.

22 means very little relative to Mokaev. He's been fighting at a relatively high level for a long time and been pursuing fighting at a near professional level for about 5 years now (thats when he started getting paid by the IMMAFs) and fighting amateur and trainin even before then. A 23-0 amateur record really is a lot of experience, especially in the IMMAFs where guys like him are being paid and fighting in tournaments you have to qualify for.

We will see, Jafel is a FINE prospect. His wrestling isn't good and his game is naturally to play bottom. These wrestler types struggle vs physical athletes with good takedown defense and other wrestlers, Mokaev hasn't fought a guy like that yet but there's a bunch of them. I can name 10, maybe 20 Flyweights outside the UFC I'd consider above Jafel, 10 easy.
