If you haven't been following that epic Mexican boxing equipment review thread, I'm in the process of making a pair of hook and loop converters for my lace JC Pacheco gloves. I was messing around and placed some spikes on the cuff. They're not set, nor are they the color and size I would use, I just happen to have these lying around. I'm curious to see what your initial impressions are. Bad-ass or just bad?

Thread Update

For anyone interested. I have custom hook and loop converters for sale. They are all leather. You can choose the main color and pipping color. You can also add hardware, spikes, spots, eyelets(soon), for an additional cost. You can reply to this thread or send me a PM if you have any questions.

They are humorous, but my coach wouldn't even let me step on the mats with those gloves.

I think the spikes should go on the knuckles for maximum damage?

OMG... Agree with the post above - some matching knuckle guards of this kind are a must to complete the set :)

haha those are awesome, just don't spar with them o_O but I think if I saw someone hitting the bags with those things I'd laugh and think they had a good sense of humour

I would ask you when your next concert was:icon_lol:

I honestly like it! I might have to buy one from you when i get my JCs!

those are 110% badass.

Thanks. Do you have lace ups?

Pretty impressive, and to think no one came up with that idea.

Thanks. I have the a few decent ideas, the execution is where I falter.

Cestus anyone?

Gladiator, I salute you.

I think flat studs would look nicer.

I played around with a few studs, eyelets, and rivets. They just don't photograph well, they don't lay flat because the prongs stick out. I also knew the spikes would get more of a reaction(good or bad).

Here's is a sneak at my next set for my Flores(probably rolling in his grave) gloves. Gonna use the navy blue, white piping, with silver spots, but line them up like the pic belt below.

I might be out of red blood of a green eyed virgin.

If the spikes were a bit much, how about rows of spots? They're not straight, I just punched them through some thin foam for a quick look.

My velcro finally came in so I was able to complete my first official hook and loop converter. Burgundy with burgundy pipping, 4" thick, 27 eyelets.
