Curtis Blaydes' chin

The last one woke him up

Maybe what the other person said where one of the shots woke him back up but from the camera angle he never seems to have really gone out. That was around 11 or 12 unanswered strikes he landed. Blaydes is impressively alert looking though in the end. It's not the usual all foggy "why did you stop it" half awake look.

Agreed. Absolutely a legit stoppage though and I have no idea why some people have debated it.

He was rocked, not put out. And he couldn't take Ngannou down to recover the same way he did Hunt. He's too strong.

i would say his recovery is just very good. hes been wobbled multiple times now but seems to get his wits together quickly enough to respond and recover

It was a shitty stoppage, Ford shills need to die off.

He showed some insane recovery, like if you skipped the fight and start watching at the break he instantly shows no damage and has great movement. Although given he's got no swelling or cuts most Ngannou shots might not have been that flush or hard after the 1st one.
Either way shows how poor the stop was but can't fix now anyways, Blaydes should have been smarter before that first big shot.

His chin is average or below average. Too many knockdowns suffered in too many fights already. You can claim it was against heavy hitters all you want but we're gonna be seeing more TKO/KO losses in his future, unfortunately.

I really don't think if this fight was allowed to go on it would have been any different of a result in 30 seconds or less. If people want to debate it was an early stoppage that's more time Francis could have been punching him in the face, it's not like he delivered a take down in the middle of the stoppage, it wasn't nearly as comical but looking at the gif over and over again it looks like Lesnar doing the half cartwheel dance sure he was "awake" but it would have been lights out soon enough.

Dude gobbled up a flush knee to the chin from Reem like he was at an all-you-can-eat buffet, and didn't even flinch.

He has a crazy solid chin.

His chin was dehydrated from the chin weight cut. Won't happen again.

It was a temple shot that put him down. Less to do with his chin and more to do with equilibrium.

his chin wasn't the problem. he showed improved striking for a moment, but you can't throw a lazy jab like that leaning in. ngannou just took advantage of blaydes poor use of distance. the shot that hurt him was to the top of the head.

blaydes showed tremendous heart and chin after that. he took a barrage of death shots, but kept trying to scramble. ngannou just wouldn't let him off the hook.

blaydes has shown that hole in his jab against overeem. overeem landed that knee as blaydes pawed in. you can't do that and not expect to pay the price.
