Hey guys, so recently I've been loving the glory kickboxing promotion, but one thing I've come to notice is that a LOT of the guys are predominantly boxers who can eat a kick or who rarely throw a kick or who throw a kick to score some % points (with the exception of Raymond Daniels who isn't great to study when it comes to basic kicking for K1..IMO).
I have to admit, I haven't watched a massive amount of events, but from what I have personally seen, there just is a lack of kicking.
It's obvious that the K1 style rules don't favour the classic MT fighter (No elbows and reduced clinching), but that doesn't really rule out the kicks. Even the "Dutch" style guys are predominantly punching, throwing 4-6 combo's that have no kick in them at all. I mean, I've heard the commentators say things like, "Such and Such have talked about boxing in their national teams." So obviously they are incredible boxers, but where are the incredible kickers :(?
So I was wondering, who are the BEST kickers under these styles of rules. And I don't want a massive list of, "Buakaw, Hoost, Bonjasky, Aerts, etc.", because they aren't really... Current. (I know many of them are still active, but they're past their prime, and whilst they might still be some of the GOAT's, I would rather see the newer generation).
Also, It seems like I'm suggesting that I've limited this to Glory Kickboxers, but that's not exactly how I've meant it, I understand that a lot of unknown promotions fight under the same sets of rules, so I would LOVE to see some other kickboxers out there!
Thanks in advance :).

Sittichai and Simon marcus has more of a Thai style as well. Voerheoven uses more kicks against punchers and more punches against kickers at least low kicks.

And Ghita seems to be semi retired but if he counts as "current" than him

I like the way Van Roosmalen set up his kicks, he seems to throw a 4-5 punch combo then lead his opponent onto a leg kick.

Not necessarily "the best", but Kaew Fairtex (prob #1 FW) recently became really active in kickboxing and he's been putting on clinics.

Also, Komiyama Kosuke has a fun arsenal of karate kicks.

Obligatory mention: Yod, Saenchai, Singnam, Kongsak, Sam-A (Not that all of these guys do KB)

Yup. I think we're probably going to see more and more Thais make the transition to high-profile kickboxing organisations too.

That's what I've heard as well. Sittichai said that his fights in Glory paid more than 10 times that of his purses from even the highest-profile fights in Thailand, and that many of the younger Thai fighters see it as a way out of poverty. I'd love to see more elite Thai fighters on TV instead of seeing them in grainy YouTube clips!

If you want HQ fights from Bangkok stadiums, watch the channel MuayTies. Highly recommended. HQ fights, uploaded very regularly.

Sittichai. But mostly because his name is fresh in my memory right now. But i wish Sittichai would throw more then just his rear roundhouse.

He got a very nice switch (or step) lead roundhouse. But he dont use it that often.

Verhoeven, the GLory HW champ can punch, but the guy can kick like nobodies business. Great low kicks, body kicks and teeps he's got. Daniel Ghita has some of the best Low Kicks at HW and can punish the body with body kicks too.

If you're wondering about alot of Kick variety though TS, there isn't alot of it. You're mostly going to find they use the staples of round and push kicks, occasionally they'll throw a fancy kick.

Nieky Holzken has been known to throw Spinning Back and Hook Kicks though, but he mostly Boxes. Saki occasionally throws Spinning Kicks too.

A guy who's had alot of success with Low and High Kicks has been Joseph Valtellini. Watch his fight with Marc De Bonte.

I remember Niclas Larsen being good kicker too.

I hope to see this as well.

current and active, Sittichai would definitely be the answer

Yodsanklai and Sittichai. Petrosyan also used kicks effectively

yeah valtellini is a very traditional kickboxer style, always ends his combos with a kick. i like his fight style
