Guys, I know this sounds retarded but I need some help.

I am 5'7" 160.

I have tried Shock Doctor compression shorts with the cup, the narrow end was not at all pleasant.

I have tried Under Armor regular jockstrap, my balls kept coming out of the cup during practice.

I talked to a dude at Under Armor, he convinced me to buy a smaller size compression short (normally I am a medium but I got 2 pairs of small). Same thing happened with the jockstrap.

Do I try and squeeze into XS shorts but use my M cup? Regular jockstrap with smaller compression shorts over top? Compression shorts then jockstrap? Go to a doctor to tell him to remove my penis in the name of jiu-jitsu?

I don't know what to do, any help would be awesome.

I used to have the same problems when I did get hit in the groin it was in bad position making it worse.

It got to the point where during highschool and college football I didn't wear anything after my freshmen year.

When I got into mma it was mandatory (aka knuckle your cup and ill hear it) and I bought a child's size...

Yes that may sound messed up, now don't get me wrong I'm neither massive or lacking downstairs but it doesnt matter for this. I bought underarmour like you that has a slot for a cup. The cup I bought was essentially just covering the tip and part of the balls, BUT it was small enough to where I didn't notice it at all almost like just a clightly curved small piece of plastic with foam edges.

To be honest I may be putting myself at risk but comfort>>>>>all for me. Goodluck.

I have a CSI mma cup and my balls will slip out from time to time but the deeper into the days training, it seems to eventually get comfortable but I was in the same boat where I never wore one in highschool football so it does take getting used to

The Nutty Buddy looks interesting. I rarely wear a cup though. If you want to keep your balls in place, try UnderGi. They are underwear that fit like a jock strap. Even when I do wear a cup, my balls never slip out or get pinched!

i use a windy steel cup. i haven't had any problems with them as long as i tie them properly. only problem is when somebody flattens me out and the cup digs into the mat. but i had the same problem with all the other cups i've used.

This nutty buddy thing looks pretty crazy. I bet it would actually work.

Thanks for you help guys, I am going to prob try both Nutty Buddy as well as Under Gi.

+ 1 for the Nutty Buddy! I've had mine about a year and no problems with pinching. Check out the reviews and wear as prescribed

I've got a SD one and man that nutty buddy looks and sound way better !
The SD is sweet with MT but sucks big time in BJJ. When I get back control and I need to pull the guy up or on the side to have a better control, the stupid cup follows the guy and that's not cool at all ...
Does that prob occurs with the nutty buddy ? since it's "floating" ?

I have had no real issues with the NB. I just wear it now as prescribed and I love it. It doesn't stick out as far as my old SD so I have had no problem with it following the guy.It just follows my boys. The key is inserting it properly. So I guess the answer is no.

I'm definitely giving it a try :) can't be worse than what's going on right now with my SD hahaha

I used to have lots of problems with cups, here was my solution.

I use a "bike" brand cup inside the draws but outside of the cup pocket. put on your draws then just put the cup on directly, tuck everything inside nice and safe. I put the draws(or compression shorts) on over top of the cup, pull them up really tight, then fold the waistband down once. Nothing EVER moves. I used to put the cup inside the pocket but then it would slide around eveywhere and crush the jiblits. The way I do it now, that thing seats itself during warmup and stays on like a rock. Nothing elver falls out or gets split or pinned or anything. Its like a straight turtle shell suctioned around my future family

I ordered two sets of the Nutty Buddy, it is my last hope...

I'll post on the test run which should be next week. Then I can be free to worry about getting tapped instead of my balls falling out of my cup.

I think you should try a Muay Thai cup! You can thighten it as much as you want, and your balls won't fall out!!

I just got my SD compression shorts + cup. I gotta say - that cup sticks out quite a bit. Made me want to get a NB cup with the lower profile.

I found that wearing "hockey style" compression shorts with a cup slot helps out a lot...

I used to wear a standard jock over UA shorts and it would slip downward so i'd always be pulling a "michael jackson" nut-grab in the middle of training lol.

I think these are them:

I just throw in a standard Bose cup in there and my junk feels fairly secure!

I use SD compression shorts and cup. Like you I've had the cup move around, but I found a fix (at least for myself personally).

I put on the compression shorts and cup, then I put an additional pair of compression shorts over. Solved my problem.

I have a Nutty Buddy. I'd put it above the other cups I own, including the Shock Doctor and the Bike, etc, but I still have issues with it from time to time. It's absolutely, 100% perfect for standup, but can be annoying for jiu-jitsu, especially while working guard. It's a great cup, though, especially if you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY (very, very important here.)

I'm planning on picking up a steel cup the next time I'm in Thailand, but I'm unsure of the sizing. If I wear medium compression shorts, would I pick up a medium cup or what?
