(CNN)About 1,300 passengers and crew are being evacuated Saturday from a cruise ship off Norway, Norwegian emergency services said.

The Viking Sky cruise ship sent a mayday distress signal due to "engine problems in bad weather," Borghild Eldoen, a spokeswoman for southern Norway's rescue center, told CNN.

Passengers on this ship might be shitting themselves for reasons other than a norovirus.

I got no snarky comment for this. Hopefully they are ok

Adrift is better than the alternative.. Although 2 day long true love could have sprouted, and that would have been the defining moment of that person's life, float or flounder.

News of Titanic proportions

Too soon?

Anybody who goes on a cruise ship deserves what they get, imo. What a complete waste. Enjoy your Norovirus or occasionally being stranded at sea.

Is it one of Bill Burr's cruise ships?

What's with cruise ships? Y'know?
[audience giggles]

Probably the most white thing ever.
[paces around on stage, a few checkered snickers from the audience]

White people and cruise ships.
[audience cackles maniacally]

They're saying the ship entered service in 2017 after being launched in March of 2016. How do they have engine failure on a ship that has only been in use for 2 years? Why are they out in that type of weather? Don't they have accurate forecasts?

It's almost as if weather forecasts can be wrong

This is great -- we're taking cruise to Norway in August. Not even joking.
