Hey fellas!

Do you count the macros and calories in eggs when the shell is still on?

For example: You have three eggs (12g protein / 100g) and they weigh 200g while the eggshell is still on. So you have 24g protein.

Or: You have three eggs (12g protein / 100g) and they weigh 120g after you have cracked the eggshell. So you have around 15g protein.

Hope I made this understandable!

You actually measure your eggs? You are sweating it too much bro, even if you pinpoint the exact weight of it there is no way to be sure the nutritional value is what you read on some website. It is all an estimate + any sort of preparation (boiling, baking, frying whatever) changes the macros. There are nutritional values for eggs deppending on size (Small,Medium,Large) so check into that if you wanna be sure.

I would suggest to concetrate on eating clean and following your training plan isntead of thinking about egg shells. Even if you think you have your macros in touch it is all an estimate - no one calculates the energy they expend while taking a shit or walking to the TV so no point of trying to be accurate to the last mg of protein cuz your entire diet is based on estimates. Here is a good read : http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/articles/article-food-composition-analysis.aspx

If you eat the eggshells yes. If you don't, no.

I mean, are you for real?

I know it's only an estimate. The nutrional value and size of the eggs is on the egg tray. I'd just like to know whether to if you count with or without the shell. + I only have one kidney so I like to measure my protein intake.

Will read the article, thanks.

I mean, yeah?
Figured I'd ask to be sure.

Well there you go - I assume the nutritional value is per egg. Since no one eats the shell obviously those are the macros of the white+yellow. Count your egg macros per eggs eaten not per grams that way it doesn't matter how much the shell weights.

Be sure? You're measuring the eggshell dude. Why would you measure something you're not going to eat? I hope you can make a living from bodybuilding, because you're probably not going to be an astrophysicist.

Nah, it's per 100g.

Will do, thanks.

I have zero interest in Bodybuilding.

I thought that the suppliers would maybe have made it easy for the customer to weigh their eggs and find the nutrional value. Seeing as it's is a bit more troublesome to weigh the eggs without shells, I wondered if the macros were with the shell.

From the replies, apparently not.

Man this guy is getting the business, way too harsh.

Nothing wrong with measuring per gram, in a bowl without shells, sometimes I do it. Weight measurements are also more accurate than volumetric.
But as noted unless you are in a situation of needing to be extremely accurate it's probably not necessary, and the nutritional value printed on the carton will be for the egg without shell.

When you eat a candy bar be sure to include the calories in the wrapper. No need to thank me.

I just go with what's in the carton

1 carton of large eggs, and it says something like:
70 cal, 5fat, 1carb, 7 protein

That's what I go with, shell or not (I don't eat the shell)
