Controversial Finish - Fake KO or not?

This happened at a show I was working this past weekend.
I've never seen anything like it.
The centre of the controversy is based around the fact that the fighter who had been fouled seemed to inform the referee of the fact before falling prone to the canvas.

Fake! Look how he lies after "KO" and how his body works and compare with other KO'd guys. Even if it will be a late reaction to that illegal kick his body will act different. Very lame behaviour from a guy who acts like a gangster everywhere but cage.

It's dumb to have upkicks be illegal anyway, worse than 12-6 elbows. I'd think a promotion like cage warriors which isn't bound by any strict commission(as far as I know) could at least do away with bad rules like this, rather than copy everything from the US.

While I agree with this sentiment in general I feel like the unbending of his leg as he collapses rather than falling back on it suggest someone who is not truly unconscious.

He drew a DQ by faking a KO. He clearly complains to the ref after the kick before falling down unconscious. He was clearly fouled but he was not out.
