I guess I wasn't specific enough with my question. I am asking what you think of Conor as a fighter, not as a personality.

I think he's a great fighter, a funny guy and I believe he has a lot of potential to do great things in his UFC career. I'm not going to say I think he'll be the champion or anything but I'd love to see it someday, it's nice to see the belt change hands from time-to-time.

He's a very exciting fighter to watch. He only has 2 fights in the UFC, but his fights outside of the UFC have been entertaining as well. His KO win over Marcus Brimage was great, beautiful combination to put him down. He then dominated Max Holloway who also has a lot of potential to do great things.

It's a little hard to really judge McGregor just yet, he has shown some potential in his two fights in the UFC, but we need to see him fight some tougher guys before we can say just how good we believe he is, he definitely needs to fight a high level wrestler to see how his TDD really is.

I think that he could give anybody a tough fight, I also believe he's one of the realist fighters in the sport right now since he's willing to fight at Lightweight & Featherweight. It seems he really loves fighting and he really wants to be the best at what he does.

I believe he's funnier than Chael as well, Chael writes & rehearses a lot of his lines (we all know that), but McGregor seems to make people laugh with some of random things that he says.

I know a lot of people hate on McGregor because they see him as arrogant, but I'm sure tons of posters on this site would be the same way when they're finally living their dream and fighting in the UFC. I can also understand if we called him overhyped/overrated, but you have to admit he has great skills and a lot of potential to be a top fighter in the 145 division.

So, what are your thoughts on Conor McGregor as a fighter?

EDIT: I would recommend to mute the HL once the second 'song' comes on, it is horrible.

Shows promise, but a bit overrated on these boards. We won't know for sure until he steps up his level of opposition.

Exciting personality and fighter, and even though I like the guy a lot still unsure about his possibilities in the division versus a wrestler.

Has promise but I just listened to him on MMA Hour and dont really like his personality. I think he will go far and I wish him a speedy recovery.

a bit obnoxious and impossible to understand, but exciting to watch

Annoying and overrated. I watched a a few videos people said he was halerious in, and he just sort of mumbled and then laughed at what he said. Nothing super funny.

Yes we need more fighters to just thank God for the fight and put everything in the UFC's hands...

I feel like a lot of sherdoggers have a homosexual attraction to him and it sways their fuckin logic, thats what i feel.

was sorta impressed when he ko'ed brimage but turned away when he started running his mouth.
he needs to be ko'ed cold to learn a lesson.
for now, he is just a loud mouth who hasnt done jack shit.

I don't have strong feelings for the guy one way or the other. He seems like a decent featherweight, so good luck to him. He hasn't exactly impressed me yet in his two ufc fights, but he hasn't been unimpressive either. When he beats a top 5 guy in the division I'll start to pay attention to the hype around this kid. I wish him the best in his recovery.

Pretty much sums it up, I do hope he does well but I am not going to pull a psycho and say he is the best. After he faces a tougher opponent it is uncertain what he can really do.

He is definitely a great fighter but he hasn't walked the walk enough for all the bullshit he is saying. And he is putting himself in this Floyd Mayweather position where a lot of people want to see him get knocked the fuck out. I guess the talk is paying off because I'm sure Dana will give him that Diego fight. If he loses in terrible fashion, his stock goes down a mile and he looks ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, i love the fighter he is in the octagon and i think he might go very far if he works on the BJJ, but i don't appreciate the personality too much.

He's always been brash though, since his fights before the UFC he was that way too. So because he speaks up he should be ko'd so he can be a quiet drone who says "i trainy hard, up to the ufc" every interview? No thanks.

Did I ever mention anything to in that regard? Just the way he presents himself is what I dont like. Just my opinion all I really give a fuk about is how they fight. Just trying to answer TS's question, I dont quote and criticize the people that like his personality.

relatively untested compared to the level people put him at, but he's obviously very skilled

Talking a lot of smack before beating any upper tier guys in the UFC + dressing like Pee Wee Herman and thinking you're cool looking like that is a big turn off for fans.
