Those words that the greatest entertainer of all time uttered, as Khabib was unleashing his blind, pent up rage on the man who had just made him the biggest muslim athlete of all time. Only later do we realize the clear, ringing truth into Conors words. For in that moment, Khabib was made, he was materialized into the collective conciousness of the world.
Khabib comes from the mountainland of Dagestan. By now, everyone following MMA has heard of that region home to stoic warriors, living a primitive life style without electricity and often only enjoying the companionship of sheep and other cattle. The brotherly love and bathing style of Dagestani men are widely known and applouded in the public. But how many had even heard of a region called Dagestan before Conor happened? As it turns out, it was very few.
Khabib's entire region, his homeland, owes it's name to Conor. Not only did Conor make Khabib, he also made his homeland. For Dagestan has enjoyed a significant increase in not only public recognition, but also its tourism and economy are prospering.
So why is Khabib not thankful of Conor for what he has done? He owes not only his own name, but also his motherlands name to Conor. It's only a business, and he's proper good at it.
