I just picked up a pair of hayabusa pro striking shin guards. and i will compare them with 2 other pro style shin guards that i have access to Gorilla fight Gear's silverback, and king pro style shin guards, i might even make notes on how they compare with windy and a pair of twins traditional shinguards.

First Impressions
First off i was reluctant to pick these up as they're $95 plus tax from a local shop. To me that was crazy expensive. but it was an impulse buy and i took the plunge.

My initial impression was "WTF these aren't even leather!" for the price i assumed the shin guards were leather but they were not. I guess i'm paying for the name with all the advertising they have to do on the UFC it shouldn't of surprised me. The foam is soft and comfortable but i wonder how protective it's going to be once i start checking leg kicks. the workmanship was good only one loose thread but that shouldn't be a problem. they have an extra a piece of padding between the foot and shin pad which is cool. i like the extra material behind the velcro straps i'm kinda curious how that is going to feel once i use them.

I will Edit this post and once i use them a few times, and compared them the other shin guards.

the review will also be posted at Welcome to the MMA Reviews

$95 does seem steep when you can get Thai-style striaght from Thailand for $80. Nonetheless, I want to read the full review when you get it going.

yeah but from local retailers the hayabusas are the economy brand as the thai brands that they import range from $120-$140.

i made a quick comparison chart of the shin guards on the site but i want to take a bit more time before i do a full review of these shin guards
