Is this a good place for beginners?

I have grappling and striking experience but want to learn fundamentals in all areas. Are there any fighters/students that train here that know if it's a good place to start?

thanks

I personally know the gym owner and many of the amateur fighters. If you live near Dublin and don't feel like commuting or are unable to, it is a very nice choice. I live in Hayward and train at AKA in San Jose and sometimes head to CSA to spar with their fighters there.

CSA is one of the top gyms in California. Definitely GREAT for proper technique whether you're a beginner or advanced.

And for all you guys in Northern California, I run a website all about regional MMA. We interview fighters and gyms and all that good stuff.

Check it out at Nor-Cal MMA

Right on Austin, I shoulda just asked you.

For now I'm gonna go to Ralph Gracie, its better for my schedule.
But CSA looks awesome, I may transition in the future.

I went to a Ramon Dekkers seminar there, and it was easily the nicest gym that I've been in. Very nice brand new equipment, and top notch trainers. If I wasn't hours away I would definitely join that gym. A lot of good fighters training there as well.

Yeah no problem. One of my buddies just started going to Ralphs spot. I was planning on going there when I thought about moving to Hayward, but now I'm staying put in Fairfield.

There's also Elite Training Center in Pleasanton

And also Guerilla Jiu Jitsu (Dave Camarillo)

I think it's a great place for beginners. If you are brand new (i.e. never taken Thai in your life), you will have 3 "newbie" sessions to ground you in the very basics. After that, you start training with everyone else. Simple.

Another nice thing about CSA is that they don't have separate "fight team only" classes; fighters and hobbyists train together 99% of the time. So everyone gets legit training without any BS.
