You can tell he’s just speaking his mind here for once. Would be great if Colby dropped the act altogether for his next fight. He’s established himself as a name now of course so getting cut isn’t a worry but I think the act has become a security blanket for him when he’s in the spot light

Nailed it. And about legacy, you can say the same about MMA fighters fighting boxers. When he says "come on, he's 58", you can use the same tone but replace "he's 5'8" by "he's fighting a pro boxer" in any situation where a MMA fighter is fighting a pro boxer in a BOXING fight.

This is where we're at now. MMA fighters use MMA to get famous enough to get a dumb freak show boxing fight for money. They would win these fights in an instant with MMA rules, but get humiliating highlights of them getting KO'd like idiots instead. But yay they have money.

And who watches that? Real MMA fans don't. Real boxing fans either (look at the reactions of the fans when Fury gave Ngannou a fight). But idiots looking for cheap entertainment do. And it's ok, let's make moneeeeeeey.

Age matters but so does class and caliber of fighter. Paul already lost to Fury, and that fight was pathetic. If mike comes out fast he might literally end this nonsense inside 1 round, people are not giving championship level boxing enough credit. Plenty of examples of old man boxers absolutely retaining the muscle memory and power to humble young men. Paul might get KTFO off the most basic of fundamentals in the first minute. This is an entirely different animal than he’s ever fought, 58 or otherwise.

It's odd seeing Colby not act like a complete douchebag. He's right, this fight is a freakshow and does nothing for Tyson. If he wins, people are going to say "well he's a boxer, he should be able to beat some youtuber!" and if he loses, it's going to be "he lost to a youtuber".
