So I've been working through Clive Barker's Jericho for PC it was ranked highly with most reputable reviews, close to a 7 out of 10. Mission 29 is freakin annoying though, I had to look up the IGN guide online to figure it out. Man am I a dummy...

If you'd like a relatively gory horror action shooter with a good storyline and somewhat original gameplay then I would say this is a top of the pile choice for you.

In case you get stuck somewhere in the game here's the walkthrough I used: http://www.ign.com/wikis/clive-barkers-jericho

7/10 is not really ranked highly. I remember it getting lower than that on a lot of sites too. Clive Barker's "Undying" was better from what I played of Jericho.

Well if the gameplay is tight and rocking I'm in. I'll give it a whack if I can find it.

Beat that game on the hardest difficulty setting for 360 a long time ago.

One of the least enjoyable gaming experiences of my life tbh. Horrible horrible game. And i love me a horror shooter. But just a cheap generic game with the worst friendly ai known to man.

I think I got it for like a dollar in a gamestop bin years ago and it was really not an enjoyable experience.

I've had it for Steam for years but have yet to actually get around to playing it.

That bad huh? So what's the best horror FPS going then?

I've had it on the 360 for several years, but I don't think I've ever played it. Huge Barker fan, but the game doesn't have the greatest of reputations.

Doom 3
Condemned
Fear
Metro 2033
Bioshock
System Shock 2
Stalker
Clive Barker's Undying

Those are some gems right there. Condemned had some awesome melee mechanics and enemy AI. They would try to lure you with one drug addict freaking out visibly behind a pillar while three more lay in wait to attack you. Plus, when you beat someone to death with a pipe, it felt like you were beating someone to death with a pipe.

STALKER probably falls under 'one of the best games you'll never play' list for most people. Metro 2033 and Last Light might be my favorite on the list. The story was enthralling.

If someone reading this hasn't played FEAR, pick up the complete pack next time it's on sale through Steam, it will probably be < 20$ for six games that are all really, really solid.

Lols, Jerhico sucked. But the good news TS, is you can now play Clive's undying, which actually is an awesome game.

Why would you put time and effect into beating a game which you don't like??

Clive Barker's Undying
I didn't like the FEARs much, the first time around was enough and all the sequels were exactly the same. Doom 3 was a bust too. Jericho was better than Doom 3 imo, it's relatively original at least.

lol @ Bioshock being horror, more like fantasy.

Will be checking out Metro 2033 and Condemned, thanks for the suggestions.

Still haven't seen enough evidence to say it's not a top of the pile choice for horror FPS games released in the last 5 years.

Because you never said anything about "in the last five years" until literally this post. The game is 10+ years old, but it's still way better than Jerhico was. But here you go, it got an 85 average back when reviewers actually held games to a standard to get that kind of score: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/clive-barkers-undying

I wanted the achievements. By the time i realized it was a horrible game that wouldn't get any better i was already a few hours in. I don't like quitting games even if they are bad.
