"Promotional officials confirmed Thursday that Shields will face Abigail Montes at the PFL championship event on Oct. 27 following an initial report from the Washington Post. The fight card, which will also crown six new divisional champs along with six $1 million prizes, takes place at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla."

"Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and three-division boxing world champion, was victorious in her MMA debut at PFL 4 with a come-from-behind third-round TKO win over Brittney Elkin."

"Mexico’s Montes will look to improve her professional record to 3-0 in the biggest opportunity of her young career. The 21-year-old earned a unanimous decision over Claudia Zamora in her mixed martial arts debut at Combate Americas 45 in September 2019. In her sophomore bout this past April, Montes earned a second-round TKO victory over Teresita De Jesus Lopez at iKon Fighting Federation 6."

Now the question .. who the hell is Abigail Montes?

A 21 year old prospect from Mexico, same team with Grasso and Aldana, with 2-0 record. She has kickboxing experience and has fought one time in Combate.

Her last fight (April 2021)

Third fight in third weight class. First fight as a bantamweight, 2nd fight as a featherweight, third fight will be as a lightweight

She looks pretty competent to be fair. Interesting booking.

She actually looked pretty good in that fight video like she knows what she's doing on the ground. She'll probably beat Shields.

She doesn't look bad at here at all. If I'm getting +odds I'll take them because Shields looked awful in her debut.
Agreed. It was shocking who bad Shields was on the ground. If this chick has a shred of finishing ability on the ground, she likely wins. She could also just get on the bike and spam leg kicks for 3 rounds, make her end up like Golovin vs Riddick Bowe.
