Derrick Lewis is the weirdest contender ever. I feel like he's one of the lowest skill level heavyweights in the division, and yet somehow he always gets a KO.

I wouldn't rank Lewis anywhere near the top 5, and yet he's beaten a lot of guys in the top 5.

If they end up fighting, and Cyril Gane is around -150 to -200, I'm gonna bet at least 5k on Gane

Gane too smart to get caught by Lewis imo. Too good cardio for Lewis to hope that he gasses.

This honestly sucks for Lewis because Francis is a more favorable matchup for him. Now he will find himself getting outclassed by Gane, crushing his hope of becoming the HW champ.

Gonna go with Gane by a UD. It'd be amazing if Lewis could win by KO in front of his home Houston crowd.
either way...the atmosphere is gonna be insane in there and it'll sell a LOT of PPVs and no doubt the UFC know that. That's the name of the game.

Ciryl wins this fairly handily IMO. Either a very lopsided UD or a late finish after battering Lewis' body with kicks and overwhelming him later in the fight.

Lewis has scary power, so a KO by him is always possible. But I don't think it's likely since Gane fights a lot smarter than Volkov and Blaydes.

Gane is good at using feints to keep people honest but when they throw they tend to land, his defence usually starts to be less effective as the fight goes on.

Lewis has the kill or be killed style that Gane hasn’t really been facing, Ganes opponents have been trying to win technical battles and get intimidated by the speed.


With all that said, I still think Gane destroys Lewis in 4. The technical difference is insane and I think the clinch will be a real spot for violence.


As a Lewis fan I’m rooting for him and it is super possible for him to win, the guy is great at making reads and capitalizing when it really counts. All it takes is one from the black beast!
