Chris Daukus’ physique is embarrassing for a professional fighter

Too much is being said about this guy's physique, and not enough is being said about his complete lack of skill. I can't disagree that the guy would probably benefit from a more disciplined lifestyle, and probably a cut to LHW, but at the same time, we've seen plenty of fat HWs (and LHWs, MWs, WWs, etc) over the years defy our expectations and even become champions in some instances.

I don't want to kick the guy when he's down, but what is Chris Daukus actually good at? He seems to have developed a reputation heavy handed striker, but he really isn't that, at least not relative to the actual heavy hitters of the division. His striking mechanics are pretty terrible, and I think that was clearly on display in his last two fights.

He really needs to go back to the drawing board and figure out what his core competency is going to be in this sport.

You think that because you are part of the steroid generation that doesnt know what a natural human body looks like.

Make no mistake about it - HW is the only division his skills can crack the top 10 in.

If he moved down to LHW the only guy I'd pick him to beat would maybe be Johnnie Walker due to how chinny he is.

Daukaus and other fat people are actually the complete opposite of what a natural body looks like seeing as you literally have to eat more than your body needs to look like that. That's the only way your body accumulates fat. And you'd have to have done so excessively and repeatedly to get as fat as him.

A natural body is not a fat body. If you ate only what your body needs it's impossible to be fat unless you were already fat from overeating to begin with. Your body isn't special, it follows the laws of thermodynamics. Calories in, calories out will always dictate how fat you are.

Just because some people are taking steroids and are achieving bodies never before achieved in human history doesn't mean the other 99% of the population are supposed to look like a melted candle.

The truth is that it takes a fucking enormous human to be able to sustain a lean physique that is so big that you can't cut to 205 pounds.

I'm 6'3. I was an all American lacrosse player in HS.

I have only ever weighed above 215 while lean and in shape while on a solid cycle of steroids. The absolute biggest I got was 228, at <10% bf and I EASILY could have made 205.

Jones and Gustafsson both made 205 their entire careers into their 30s at 6'4.5 - 6'5.

What fraction of 1% of people are bigger that that and could Sustain 235-240 pounds of lean mass while training cardio.

This is me at 212 pounds on a cycle of Anavar and test and some SARMs. I was running about 20 miles a week at this point.

How many people would NATURALLY support and maintain 25 pounds MORE of lean mass than this while passing random USADA tests? (which pop positive even for trivial bullshit like DHEA)
How old are you in this picture ?

Kinda sad, he quit his job as a cop before his Derrick Lewis fight to become a full time fighter and has now lost 2 fights in a row.

He looks like shit like most of UFC HW’s under USADA, what do people really expect? MMA HW physiques have never been that great to begin with, take away steroids and its even worse.

He's got relatively quick hands and a good bit of pop. He was lucky in the sense that he caught two declining ranked guys at the right time in Oleinik and Shamil and that put him in the rankings, but then when he started fighting ranked guys that haven't hit the skids yet he got found out.

George Sotiropolousisisis...... sootiroppplesous..... That Aussie dude had a really weird body

Your point 2 is hilarious nonsense

"Nothing special" wow. It is special. Its especially crap.

I genuinely think the guys who are hell bent on refusing to admit Daukus is an absolute state as a professional athletes are just fat, out of shape slobs themselves.

The key point is that there is a disconnect between body builder physiques and success in MMA. I don't get the numerous comments by you and others trying to attack the motives of sherdoggers who argue that you can be successful at heavyweight with a physique with a high body fat %, like many past successful heavyweight MMA fighters have done. Unless you can somehow see through the internet into our homes you have absolutely no idea who you are talking to. I also like to argue against internet group think type events, like the hate that is getting directed towards Chris Daukus on sherdog and other internet forums immediately after losing this fight. It strikes me as odd that the exact same opinion gets repeated by so many anonymous internet users, and I think there is a certain element of bullying involved, which seems to be corroborated by your broadly labelling people who disagree with you as 'fat out of shape slobs'.

Daukus looks like he’s carrying a solid 50lbs of additional non-functional weight on his frame. These fat heavyweights need to be inspired by fighters like Cannonier, Cormier and Krylov. I know fat Cormier won the HW strap, but I’d argue he was a better athlete at 205lbs. I don’t understand how you can inspire to be a great athlete and look like this:

Fat at HW isnt a problem. It needs much less blood than muscle tissue while still giving you the mass to use in grappling, punching, clinching. It can add to your cardio. It doesnt make sense to try to get ripped at HW at all if that isnt your genetic code. It protects you against injury, stablilizes your immune system, delivers energy via release of fatty acids...etc.

Doesnt mean you need to be a fatty but fat itself with a lets say 20% fat percentage isnt detrimental but can often lead to a better fighter than him trying to get ripped. Josh Barnett had great cardio but looked like a giant baby with love handles. Did not slow him down one bit.
