I know it's generally not good to dwell on our own mortality, or even think about death at all, so if you'd rather not then please click away now.

Of course, by this point it's already too late. You'll get over it.

For me, I usually only give it any serious thought after funerals. I suppose you're kind of forced to confront it then. Anyway, we're all going to die - SO, how do you reckon you'll go?

The way I see it, there's few possibilities:

Cancer: Generally a slow and painful way to go. Personally, I think I would refuse treatment (depending on the prognosis, but for the purposes of this thread we're talking terminal...) in favor of going out in relative comfort, as most doctors do:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...-treatment-advanced-cancer.html#axzz2KYaoZjOj

Heart disease: Another strong contender, and one which somehow doesn't have the mainstream coverage or hype that cancer does. A heart attack is supposed to be one of the most painful things possible, but at least it would be relatively quick.

Violently: This includes car crashes, plane crashes, being brutally murdered, etc. Not as possible but, nevertheless, still not a pleasant way to go.

Old Age (including alzheimer's, dementia, etc): You gradually lose both your physical and mental faculties, essentially regressing to an infantile state. This won't literally kill you, at least not directly, but it'll progress until you think it's still 1992, you're five years old, and you no longer recognize your own children. On the bright side, you'll most likely escape the horror of being fully aware of your own death.

Misadventure: The circumstances of your death are so unusual that they make most people struggle not to laugh. This includes bungee jumping accidents, auto-erotic asphyxiation, potholing (what the fuck did you expect, seriously?), and sex and cocaine fueled heart attacks. I swear, the last one almost did me in once...

Peacefully, in your sleep: You're almost guaranteed that this won't happen to you - unless you choke to death on your own vomit, or something. Good luck, though.

Suicide: I wouldn't recommend it. I've known a couple of good people that've went out that way, and I've wished I could bring them back to slap some sense into them each time. Depression is temporary - if they weren't being so fucktarded at the time, they would have realized this...

In a fire: Although people here might wish that you would, you probably won't.

Feel free to add more...

This was always my favorite choose your own adventure book.

Cancer. Strong family history.

Wait, are we choosing? Then I'd like to be chased off a cliff by a mob of topless women in crash helmets.

Also, fuck dying. I'm gonna try to live long enough to upload myself into the net. Watch my postcount skyrocket. Actually, might have to stay away from sherdog. Would suck to be digitised for eternity, only to get lost in page not founds.

Oh, I see, so we're listing all the possible ways to die?

Stroke. It's very, very popular. Various organ failures. Without dialysis, for instance, kidney failure means bye bye.

Sepsis of various kinds (not sure if they're all called sepsis). Resistant bacteria attacking everything at once. Good times.

Am I doing it right yet, TS?

Also adding drowning, being eaten by stuff, being blown up by a CIA spider (though that's under that misc misadventure category).

Yup - most likely, or what you think are the most likely ways to go.

Stroke's a good one! It's the dark horse of the tournament, I think.

Resistant bacteria are a worry - but they normally attack vulnerable people in hospitals, so I'd consider them more of a complication.

Of course, cataclysmic events don't count.

hmmm, apart of me wants to grow old and then die in my sleep, and then have my body mummified (yes i know that sounds crazy, but i really want that, custom sarco****us and all).

the other part of me wants to live my life to fullest while im still young and then when im about 40 or so have a battle with any enemy of mine to the death. because a lot of times i fear getting old

edit: wait, they blocked out the word sarco****us?! why? just means tomb/coffin right?
