Do any of you use the chicken wing in Jiu Jitsu? I was planning on trying it out for gi since their arm would be a little too slippery for no gi it seems.

You mean like?

How would it be too slippery for no-gi when its a legit (read: not Pro-) wrestling move....?

I hit it from the back from time to time, both gi and no gi.

we don't learn it and use it from our Jiu-Jitsu coach but our Catch Wrestling coach has used it so some of what we learn from Catch carries over into our Jiu-Jitsu rolling and vice-versa. I personally don't really use it.

I was just thinking of using it to get a bit control going to open up more options.

If you get to that position, you'd have more success finishing with RNC.

Nope, and the wrestling arm bar series was my go to pinning game.

It's too pure wrestling and based off the referees position or the desire for the bottom man to stay on his belly. Once you have the back you go straight for the neck like others have said because in wrestling the only reason you go for that move is because you cannot directly attack the neck and obviously no subs.

I think he meant the compression, for example, when a guy defends the juji gatame and you cant open his arms.

If so, then yes, its usefull.

I have never use it and I have not known anyone that does. I don't see much use in the chicken wing.
