Hi all,

I just tried chicken thigh fillet for a change its a bit tasty compared to breast and a bit cheaper, is there any difference in its nutritional value?

Thanks,
jj

i just found it and yeah breast has a lot more protein and less taste

The thighs give you much more value. For some reason, the western world is enamored with the breast meat. In most other countries, people prefer the dark meat.

But to reiterate what was already said, the breast provides more protein with less fat. It tastes more dry because of this and less flavorful. It costs a lot more than the thigh meat (do the math next time you're at the grocery store, it's ridiculous).

I'm a thigh man, although breasts are nice sometimes.

One of my favorite way to do thighs is just to brush them with pesto sauce and broil them

Chicken thighs are the bomb. I haven't eaten chicken breast in at least 6 months and I don't miss it. Chicken thighs are great in the slow cooker, they stay nice and juicy and create their own gravy.

Never knew that I just always bought the breasts for some reason.

Im given the whole anabolic diet a go (heard good things, so far so good), so Ill serve it over bacon.

chicken breast is for losers

I made the switch from breasts to thighs two weeks ago and I was shocked at how much better it tastes and how much better I feel. I'm a little guy so the extra fat doesn't mean anything to me.

People (in the US) are enamored with chicken breasts because they are low in fat. Saturated fat is evil, etc.

I'm not convinced that chicken is a good source of protein. I'm trying to switch most of my chicken consumption to fish.
