His fight usually are entertaining. Mostly due to him having an average chin and defense though. Leading to him getting knocked down like all the time.
He is a bony tattooed blonde dyed jockey weirdo though. Looks like the brazilian Dan Hooker.
I agree with him being mostly respectful, props for that.

Therefore I'm indifferent

He's a great character and been quality to watch his progression over the years, so many bangers so many submissions. We as fans should count ourselves lucky to have him, Do Bronx bless.

I would also say I'm indifferent. I dont think he's that good of a fighter honestly. Seems like a very nice person and all that, which is "cool" I guess.

I find his fans to be annoying, above all things.
"Not that good of a fighter", but was champ and defended, holds all time submission and finish records, etc.

What the hell are you smoking man, cause I want some. Do Bronx is a great fighter. And he's proof that's sometimes first impressions are misleading because when I started watching the UFC he was a fun action fighter. Then he leveled his game up and became champ. That's the kind of progression they write stories about.

Guaranteed action every time this dude steps in the cage. He's got my hespec.

Hard to hate Charles. He comes to fight, kill or be killed every time. He’s not controversial, generally respectful. Plus he has the whole underdog story.

The only thing I am a little turned off by is not anything to do with him, but with his fandom especially at one point of his peak. As is the case with virtually every popular fighter, fans of his were getting borderline delusional. So much so that you couldn’t have an honest conversation about his skillset and his weaknesses. Fanboys ruin everything.

yeah, im right there with you. You could never really have an honest conversation about him. Same with whittaker or any other very popular "Nice" person.

One of the top 5, possibly even 3 top LWs of all time, UFC submissions record and a very high amount of top level wins, isn't that good of a fighter???

Awesome fighter and person.

Never noticed he did that in all of his fights.

I like him, but can be a borderline dirty fighter between the Poirier glove grab and the illegal upkick and headbutt he got Tsarukyan with

I'm a nerd for sportsmanship. Also I appreciate when they try and speak English when fighting here.

As it should be.

Respect off the field. Fight like a warrior when it is time.

Charles managed to become one of the most beloved fighters while not really speaking English. Not easy to do.

Hats off to Charles and Poatan for earning the respect the hard way with warrior spirit and class.

no he isn't I dont think he's a top 5 or top 3 lw. at all. I think there are many many LW's that would beat him even in his peak of peaks. Even durring his peak he almost gets ko'd or finished in many of his fights I believe a lot of the fights he wins at the top are coin flips he could have just as easily lost on any given night.

I think he's one of the weakest lw champions of all time(read this as a compliment, because most LW champions are very very good). At the time of RDA, Alverez, Pettis, Benson being lightweight champs I think all of them would beat charles. I also think guys where never never champs like Cerrone, Gilbert melendes and nate diaz are completely up in the air as well. ( you might be thinking that Diaz is a stretch, but I dont think Charles can KO him, or sub him, so he'd have to win a battle of attrition which is much harder I dont see him as having a strong wrestling game or leg kicks i dont see it being easy for him)

But you can make that case for most LWs. If you look back at the former champs. Eddie Alverez who had nothing but close decisions in all his UFC fights or he won by KO or got KOd even number of times. Ben Henderson while at the top had nothing but close fights. Pettis was completely inconsistent, RDA was also inconsistent early part of his career and then when he went on his streak but lost to pretty much every top fighter he fought.

I think you completely underestimate Charles. He pretty much beats any of those guys you mentioned and his resume and accomplishments wise a top 3 LW all time. I don't think you can rank any of those guys above him.

But anynow, the point is going back to what you said. You don't think he's that good lol. Even if you place him top 10 LW of all time, that's exceptional and very good. You are elite and among the best of all time when you have a resume like Charles.

A lot of those guys would have a tough time with peak Charles. I agree that Diaz actually would be a tougher opponent for him. I think Benson would get worked by peak Charles. Pettis would have been interesting. Alvarez would be a dog fight. I think he'd take Cerrone and Gilbert.
